Tasty Ways to Eat More Fiber
The exact amount of fiber needed in one’s diet is in dispute, but the general recommendation is that people need 14g for every 1,000 calories. Women tend to need less fiber as they age. Getting enough fiber benefits the digestive system by helping to keep the intestines cleared and the bad bacteria eliminated.

The Truth About Soya
Hello everyone, I hope you’re well. So, I bet you’re all thinking that soya (you know that stuff that is in a lot of what we eat and comes from a bean) is really good for you, right? If you’re dairy intolerant, or vegan, you probably drink soya milk as one of your alternatives, right? If you’re vegetarian or vegan you also probably eat a lot of tofu, which is full of soya, right? Or fake meats made of soya? Well, unfortunately, you are wrong. Shocking, right? A bean not actually being good for you. Especially a bean which has a place in a lot of the food and drink we consume, including a lot of chocolates, shop brought breads, doughnuts, cakes, biscuits, SOY SAUCE, etc. It is in a lot of food that we consume and it is not doing us any favours.

Moringa
If you've never heard of Moringa, you are not alone. Although this tropical plant grows abundantly in parts of Africa and Asia, many people living in Western countries are not familiar with it. However, if you have never tried it, you are missing out on a nutritional superfood. This humble plant is packed with nutrients, especially iron, which makes it ideal for those who struggle with anemia or for vegetarians who may need to get more iron in their diet.

10 Smoothies for Winter
Most people wouldn’t say a smoothie is one of their top choices for a morning beverage when it’s below 50 degrees outside. But the truth is, on some mornings you need energy that you just can’t get from your usual cup of coffee—even if that is what you’d prefer to warm your toes. Fruits and vegetables are jam-packed with iron, fiber, antioxidants, and vitamins that will help you power through your day, and it’s especially important to load up during the winter to get your immune system strong. The best part is, the addition of superfoods, healthy fats, and warming spices will make you actually want to drink these smoothies on the coldest of days.

Egg-Sactly What You Need to Know
Many people are squawking about animals and what's happening with them. We've heard many different sides ranging from industrializing more to stopping the use altogether. I stand somewhere in the middle. As you can see by my bio, I am a farmer. I grew up on a production farm for Tyson's and saw everything that happened—and exactly how it happened. I have to say, a lot of the stories are huge exaggerations. The houses aren't as crowded as they make it out to be, chickens aren't filled with steroids, and they certainly aren't brutally hurt at that stage. However, I am still against it. I can imagine some of you are surprised at that after me standing up for it. Let's think about chickens though. The chickens used for meat don't lay eggs. They don't do much, actually. I've experimented a bit, and put some in an outside lifestyle to see what they did. They really just sat around and walked to food and water as they needed then laid back down, even in the event of predators. Within recent years I bought some laying chickens. The difference was phenomenal.

Benefits of Mycelium
Have you been getting your recommended servings of vegetables and fruit everyday? How about drinking plenty of water? If you have, then thumbs up, but there may be something else you want to add to your list of "Things I Need to Eat Today": fungus. For now we will just call them mushrooms because it sounds a bit more pleasing. Many people find mushrooms to be odd tasting with a strange texture, but if you take the time to try the different varieties you will find that there is something out there for everyone. Chanterelles are a bright golden color and have a fruity and peppery taste, and go quite well with eggs because of their delicate texture. They also last the longest in the fridge compared to other mushrooms because of their high water content and should be sautéed dry.

Saving Time on Meal Prep
Sometimes it seems like we only have two options: hunch over a hot stove or cutting board for at least 20 minutes, or grab a bite that was probably more greasy, sugary, or otherwise unhealthy than you meant to eat. Even doing a five to seven day meal prep session can still take five to six hours if you're doing it wrong. Here are some tips you can use to shorten your meal prep time.

Eating Vegetables When You Don't like Vegetables
While people will argue whether red meat, grains, fruit, dairy, and a multitude of other foods should be removed with prejudice from your diet, most diets agree that vegetables are good for you and that you should eat more of them. This food pyramid category also happens to be one of the only ones people will actually tell you to eat more of, because while people often overeat, it's usually not on a bowl of veggies.

Berries
It’s no secret food is amazing, and so is fruit. But do you know what is extra special? Berries. Why are they so tasty, healthy, and refreshing? Berries are like nature's candy that our planet hands out to us with her twig-like fingers when we are walking along country roads. Our friend Earth is basically Willy Wonka.
