Best Ramen in America
Ramen has become increasingly popular over the years, and, for good reason. The keyword, ramen near me, has, about a hundred million searches per month, and, with that popularity, Ramen Restaurants have been popping up all over the country. I have visited quite a few ramen restaurants, and, have done my best to narrow it down to my favorites.

Tacos & Tequila?
Tequila and Tacos? Yes, please! It was a very chilly Monday night in Naples. Well, it was in the fifties, but we all know that is considered cool for South Florida. My Fiancee (Em) and I decided to venture out that night for a bite at a local taco spot, Tacos and Tequila Cantina. I should mention that we both come from Culinary backgrounds, and have been in the foodservice industry for over 30 years combined. So you can imagine that we can be slightly critical when it comes to going out to eat. So we set our expectations to a medium that evening and headed out the door.

Christmas Dinner Ideas
When the stockings have been filled then emptied and after Santa has made his appointed rounds families around the globe begin the preparations (or in some instances continue them) to prepare the family feast that is most often associated with Christmas Dinner. There are many traditions around the world though sadly far too few families have the opportunity to experience some of the rich traditions and delicious foods that mark the Christmas holidays in other corners of the globe, or even across each individual nation.

Perfect Pairing
When you think of the holidays, your mind automatically goes to gingerbread houses, candy cane hot cocoa, and popcorn-cranberry garlands. Christmas is my absolute favorite season for a lot of different reasons. I can tell you about the crystal clear memory I have of watching “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” so many times in a row, I could recite the whole movie verbatim. But that’s not the only reason I love Christmas! I think there is something so calming to see everything covered in a blanket of snow, with all the different types of Christmas lights twinkling, the faint whisper of car tires driving down the street, and White Christmas by The Drifters playing through my car. Don’t get me wrong, I love Bing Crosby’s version and the actual White Christmas movie, but you have to love the baritone/bass from The Drifters… it’s just something else. And just like Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye make a great duo, so does Wonderful Cake and milk.

Two Heads are Better Than One
Reviving something means fixing foundations, making improvements, and breathing new life into it. Great Revivalist Brew Lab in the small midwest town of Geneseo, Illinois, is living up to its lengthy name. They are reviving the idea of pizza and beer in two businesses that had lost hope for numerous reasons - Lionstone Brewing and Great River Brewing. This transition began as a hopeful, optimistic journey that would bring fortune to many people.

White Zinfandel & Grilled Oysters
The scene is a holiday house party - a backyard full of friends and family laughing over tables piled high with delicacies, a fire roaring in the pit, and all of us gathered around a massive grill steaming with fresh, hot oysters. My grandfather stands by, a wine glass in hand with his favorite beverage, White Zinfandel, as he flips oysters and stokes the fire to keep it warm the whole long winter night. He’ll be the one to put it out too, and hose off the patio from all the oyster juices when everyone else has finally gone to bed.

Can homemade Be Worse than Store Bought?
I know you’re thinking, "how can anything homemade be worse than store bought? Well, give me a moment to explain. You see, each year millions take to the store to purchase ingredients for holiday gatherings and family outings. They purchase large bags of spices, flours, and sugars in hopes of preparing the best cookie their family has ever seen. They take to social media in an attempt to find the best recipe that will encompass all of the holiday love they have for food and family. They crack the eggs, pour the milk, stir the mixture and put it in the oven at 350 degrees.

Which Way to the Wine, Please!
For most people, arguably so, wine is and has always been a welcomed staple of both simple fellowship as well as food consumption. The question, however, is with the vast assortment of available types, brands, and flavors, how does one choose the perfect wine to pair with the perfect fare? I'm going to explain just that and my favorite culinary combinations for even the most discerning palate that will have you raving to all your friends or be the envy of them, whichever suits your needs (insert wink emoticon).

Cheese and Wine
We all need to eat to survive, however I think we can all agree that there’s a profound beauty in the finding perfect blend of the right flavours. Different tastes identifying themselves individually but somehow still creating something unique - Sweet and salty, hard and soft, creamy and fruity, light and heavy. The moment two opposing flavours meet in your mouth and they’re no longer just themselves, they’re something brand new. Chef Remy was right when he said, “Good food is like music you can taste (and) color you can smell.” When the right pairing is found, its magic.

Indian Flavors conjure comfort and creativity in 2020
Indian food has always been my depression food, my ultimate comfort food to take me away from the aches and pains, a case of the blues and the heavy tears. This year has been a standout year for indulging in the flavorful spices that send me back to a happy little realm like the food critic taking a bite of the ratatouille in the Disney movie of the same name.
