Sins May Be Pardoned with Ice Cream
Because this story is about forgiveness, I'll start off with an apology to my lactose-intolerant friends. I am so incredibly sorry that you cannot partake in this delicious dairy indulgent treat. If it helps at all, you can eat a delectable order of Chinese takeout in front of me while I enjoy my ice cream. I feel your pain with intolerances as I too have one of the soy variety, and hot damn isn't that in nearly everything?! So here's the deal: we can share in jealousy, pleasure, sorrow, and joy all at the same time. Sounds like a good start to a bad romance, am I right? Queue Lady Gaga, "Rah, rah-ah-ah-ah"! Anyway, while you're enjoying your platter of Chinese takeout, let me share my guilty pleasure with you. You can tempt and tease me all you want in return later.

The Bodacious Brandywine
Will gave me the high sign fifteen minutes before the Farmer’s Market opening bell He had what I wanted and was keeping it safe. The fragile Brandywine tomatoes were tucked under his table and out of the hands of careless potential purchasers who looked over his crops with their fingers as well as their eyes. His care is essential. Will is one of the few vendors who even try to bring Brandywines to market. They are that delicate. Find them in a grocery store? No way. Not wanting to be too obvious I gradually moved over to the corner of his booth. I was ready to get my share at the very first moment.

WE ALL SCREAM...
Aaaaah!!! Summertime!!! The fragrant scented air – the unmistakable aroma of bodies on the hot sand frying themselves with everyone's favorite – Reef Oil – the heady scent of the coconuts that gave their lives so you could cook your skin to a crisp – not dissimilar to bacon if you stay out there long enough! The bronzed surfer dudes, nary a wet suit in sight, water dripping from golden locks...surfboards stabbed into the sand.

American Taiyaki
My childhood summers always started with an “end of school” celebration at a friend's home. No matter which friend hosted it, the tradition was that we always began summer with grilled burgers and hotdogs. Our mouths watered as the juices from the glistening meat dripped into the fire, making sizzling sounds, while scents of warm heartiness and smoke filled the air. My friends’ parents were usually health conscious enough to provide green salads, which my friends and I all ignored, preferring to munch on salty, greasy chips and sweet medleys of fruit to stave off the growing hunger as we awaited the main course on the grill.

We all screamed for ice cream
There is a reason to scream I scream! You scream! We all scream for ice cream! Generations of children grew up shouting this rhyme each summer as they anticipated eating their favorite treat.`Ice cream is said to have come to the United States in the 1700s and it has been a beloved dish ever since.

Ooey Gooey
Summer tastes like graham crackers that spray you with crumbs when broken, like marshmallows from a freshly torn bag, like sneaking a chunk of chocolate before the real fun begins. S'Mores aren't complete, however, without their entourage; The log benches, the fire pit, and lightning bugs, all beneath the summer stars. This is the place and time where their magic takes effect and memories are forged just as S'Mores are forged in fire. Therefore, let us this night revel in decadent interlude by firelight.
