In The Origami Café
A Wonderful Coffee And More Shop In Alnwick

Introduction
I come to Alnwick once or twice a year and discover some amazing things that give me a reason to write stories and share them on Vocal. These are a selection if you want to delve a little further into my Alnwick related pieces:
On my monthly visits to Preston, I visit the Olive Grove Café and they have a thousand Origami Cranes that inspired a poem from me here:
And incidentally, today I thought I saw a real crane but it was a blue Heron:
Even though it has been here nearly nine years, this was the first time I have noticed The Origami Café. Either that or my memory is becoming more unreliable and that is always a possibility.
In The Origami Café
I had some time to kill and because of my recent origami encounters, The Origami Café was somewhere I had to go for a coffee and possibly cake. I decided to just go with the coffee. There was a lady in, but she said she was waiting for friends and then another table came free so I sat down at that one.
I started to chat with Judy, the owner and the other lady who was joined by friends, and Judy told me that she actually comes from where I now live, but was just back from a trip to Thailand.
She has lots of origami displays and some amazing creations as well as lots of cake and drinks.
The atmosphere in the café is very welcoming, and you can see from her Facebook page that the place is very populare becausesometimes there are a lot of people sat outside with cake and coffee, although that may have just been a sunny day, but it is great to see a place create such good feeling and delight for its customers.
This is a small origami crane that Judy made for me:

And here are some of the delights that you can see in The Origami Café:

We all chatted for a while until I had finished my coffee, and the atmosphere was extremely warm.
Judy told me that she has many amazing supportive customers, and it does not surprise me, given how welcoming she is. She reminds me of my friend Tian who sells the most amazing card creations in the Grainger Market in Newcastle (check out the link at the end of this article).
It was wonderful to chat to Judy and her customers about all sorts of things while enjoying our drink, and Judy knew the names of everyone who came in, showing how much she cares for her customers.
It's not just the coffee and cake, it's the amazing origami creations that line the walls, and I saw some amazing looking chocolates which were actually fridge magnets.
I will be revisiting and checking out what other wonderful things there are there, but while I know most of my friends across the Atlantic are unlikely to get here I will recommend The Origami Café strongly to all my friends in the United Kingdom.
My half our here was utterly delightful, and this is one more place in Alnwick that I will always make time for on this and future visits.
Look out for more pictures which O will share on Instagram and Facebook, and I am sure you will want to drop in here if you get the opportunity.
Conclusion
Thank you so much for reading and if you are ever anywhere near Alnwick, you have to check out The Origami Café.

That cafe is soooo wonderful! Also, what cakes do they have there?
Really like all the images and you seem to always visit the most interesting places. Good job in sharing your experiences.
This cafe looks beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us here!
That sounds intruiging, Mike. Do they hold origami classes too?
sounds like a lovely visit at the cafe <3
Sounds like another wonderful place to visit. It makes me think of a place called "The Huckleberry" where we loved to go for tea, soup & sandwiches. Unfortunately, they closed (she retired), so now we spend a lot of time at Jitters, a coffee house offering wonderful drinks & food along with great hospitality. We also have a local micro brewery called Irrigation Ales with a similar kind of vibe.
