How Your Day Goes
How your first meal could dictate your day

When you wake up, early or mid-morning, you rummage the fridge for food, sustain. You don't know what you want, you just know you need something to fill the hole in your stomach. You look for a good 5 minutes before your mind starts to think, "Find something, damnit! I'm hungry!" You start to feel the hole in your stomach gurgle or gargle. This is bad cause you could pick something bad for you or just something that you know is not as tasty as you think. You let your mind wander and wonder ,"What have I made before that keeps me going and is easy to make?" (A complicated prep for a meal is something you do when you know you feel like a challenge. This is not one of those times.)

You see eggs and think of all the ways you like: scrambled or sunny side. Your mouth waters a bit and you think, "I gotta have some eggs, whatever I make I gotta have some eggs!" You take another breath and you notice you want bacon. Then your head buzzes like you made a game show error, no bacon. You enjoy bacon but you ate it already, le sigh. Your mouth is starting to water again, you notice the coffee maker has some coffee so you start making coffee, you then add some frappuccino mix cause you are fancy. The smell actually strafes off hunger but your stomach wants sustain again. Then you realize your vocabulary is terrible and its sus·te·nance. You really need some food. You start to rummage through the cabinet and see some dried shiitake, you love shiitake mushrooms. They are like meat without meat, you add water, microwave for 40 seconds (or whatever, as long as its not hard), it blooms again. They have the sustenance you need but you know you need something like a cake. You remember the eggs and you grab them and you gotta cook'em. Scrambled or sunny side? You know scrambled.

You pull out a small pan, you use the small pan cause its small span, small clean-up. Every master chef says you can rate someone based on their eggs. Add some butter to the pan and scramble some eggs. You feel like you are on the road to success. You look at the pan and go damn, its starting to stick. You move it around with some spoon, you scramble, scramble, scramble. The eggs are scrambled, they came out fluffy but some stuck to the pan, rats! Its ok though, you got most of the scrambled eggs out and you feel like you are on the road to success. Do my eggs look like the first photo? No way! I take out the shiitake mushrooms and place them first on the bottom of my plate and then plop the scrambled eggs on top. Then you are thinking "You've done it, your meal is complete!" No way! The secret weapon is always the spice and you pull out your guacamole spice and you try to add that and OMG, it spills over! Its too much but luckily, the secret is that it scrambled eggs in 3. I used three eggs cause its a cakey breakfast or brunch. I simply mix it around, under and over and its like a sautee. My hole in my stomach is at full capacity.

I sit on my couch, I place my coffee cup down on my coffee table and I devour the meal. The eggs are fluffy, the shiitake mushrooms are like marching soldiers. I mix the eggs and mushrooms by spoon, divine. They march and march into my stomach like a meal fit for a king! They are my sustenance for the late morning. I then catapult my comforting coffee and leave the day open to march and conquer my daily tasks! *MARCH, MARCH, MARCH, MARCH*
