Adapting to the stay-at-home lifestyle
The year 2020 has been eventful from the minute a pandemic hit; everyone's world transformed. Businesses and organizations were shutting down, people were losing jobs, and everyone had to conform to a new normal. Some of which have stayed the same in areas of the world. Social distancing created a whole new meaning for many people. Unfortunately, many families have suffered from losses and had to distance themselves from one another, primarily with the holiday season. It's unfortunate for many of us stay-at-home parents its put a strain on isolation.

The Beginning Part Three
I asked her, "Mommy, who my Daddy? And Where is he?". She looked at me in a way I had never seen before. I’m sure many of you know the expression ‘if looks could kill’, well, this was one of those. She never answered my question either. I remember asking Matt why she would not tell me, and he said because she hates him.

Clumsy Me
As we pull in the driveway, I say to the two older girls "y'all get him and I will get soso because she’s asleep and y'all will wake her". They get out run inside with him because it is raining. I walk around the car, open the door, step up on the running board, carefully unbuckle her car seat and move her little arms from behind the straps pick her up put her on my shoulder, I go to step down and my left foot slips my right ankle twist as it hits the ground, I can’t grab a thing to help stop the fall, bam hinny hits the ground then my head bounces off the ground as well. Soso raises up sitting on my stomach as I am laying on the ground trying to decide what happened just now. She holds out her hands to the sides as if to say what do I do here, as she looks down at me "uh oh, momma falled!" I can’t hardly move yet my body still in shock so no getting up, I just laugh then she laughs. Here we are both laughing in the rain as I lay on the ground. After a few I decide I must try to get up before someone drives by and thinks I've lost my mind. We roll around and get to my feet, I walk in the door of the house, still laughing and my older child then looks at me, "you fell, didn't you?" She knows her mother well.

Holiday Time
With 2020 ending within a week and a half, I can't say that everyone has had good things happen lately. The pandemic was very unexpected and with lots of people not having work or anything to help families with food, rent, and things that people need for babies or really anything. I'm just saying having a baby during the pandemic was not easy for me either. I had to go into the hospital for my c-section, it was also a toss up because my significant other was about to be called out for riot patrol in Dallas. Luckily, he didn't have to go, which made me feel better because he wanted to be there when his son was born. Well we all can't say that everything that has happen has been good. Lot's of people have had very tough times and I congratulate you on how well you did this year even though it has been rough. I know families have been struggling and hoping to get things for your family. Don't worry I had the same issue back in March right before my son was born. Now I can't say that things are getting better but they are somewhat looking up. Knowing that Christmas is next week, my family and I have been packing up to get ready for our move to a bigger place and somewhere we like that's better than our apartments now. It's also been a little rocky with his family well I should say his dad, because that's all who is dealing with this.

"It's Christmas!"
For some, Christmas is the most exciting time of the year. For others, it is one of the main religious holidays of the year. For me personally, Xmas is about spending time with our loved ones, giving and receiving some lovely gifts --- and eating good food!

How I (Normally) Celebrate The Holidays. Top Story - December 2020.
It's the most wonderful time of the year, and the Vocal team reached out to me about sharing my holiday traditions! While everyone's holiday season is bound to look different this year - including my family's - I thought I'd talk about how I usually celebrate the occasion. Y'know, when there typically isn't a horrible coronavirus floating around in the air.

Bringing Back The Newspaper Wrapping
One of my favorite Christmas memories from my childhood would be the gifts we would receive from my father. You knew which ones were his because they were always oddly shaped and wrapped in the Sunday comics. These gifts wouldn’t be the trendy things we asked for in the 90s like a bookshelf stereo or a Starter jacket, (hello, I am a hundred years old) but they would contain cool things like bongo drums from a second hand shop in Iowa City, or the bootleg 4 CD set of a Pearl Jam concert one of Dad’s sound buddies recorded off the board.

5 Ways My Boyfriend Has Surprised Me
There are definitely more than five ways that my boyfriend (John) has surprised me, one of the more recent moments being the day he proposed to me (read about that one here). However, I wanted to used this article to highlight some of the ways in which he has surprised me with small moments of kindness.

Guardian Angel
One day, when I was a young schoolgirl, it was about the time that I hit puberty. I saw myself outside my body and I explored a while seeing some very strange things until I somehow knew I had to get back to my body, so I did. I didn’t think much of it at the time as I had no idea what had happened.

The boat, treasures, and the beach
The red and white boat that dad shouldn’t have bought, according to mom, had a purpose: adventures at a semi-desert beach at the São Paulo Northern coastline. I believe that, at the time, Juquehy was a division of the city of São Sebastião.
