Humanity begins at home.
2020
Starting this year was very unexpected due to me having a baby boy in June and to moving into our very first place together. With my pregnancy at the beginning dragging me down and was very tiring for me, I wasn't expecting a pandemic to happen to where everything had to be shut down. With my hardly working at the time and for my SO looking for a job to figure out what to do was hard between us. Thank goodness for the stimulus check that helped us including my unemployment at the time. During that time I couldn't have anyone around me and I really didn't want to go anywhere because that is how tired I was, even eating out at a restaurant I didn't want to. Also with the pandemic hitting I didn't even have a baby shower for my son, which was a bum for me because I would have loved to have one. My SO wasn't ready for his son to arrive but I made due with what we needed. I love that things had happen for a reason and to me that God or whoever you believe in has a reason for doing what he throws at every human being. To me, it made me realized that I was very appreciate of what we had, which was a roof over our head and food in our bellies. My SO is still a little hard headed to understand any of that, but I figure with him being twenty-six he's still learning.

Post # 1 - A blast from the past brought back by a complete stranger from Germany all the way to California
I woke up this morning, just like every other morning, and checked messages on my phone; however, this morning I came across an article posted by a friend on Facebook. It was a story about the neighborhood where I grew up roughly 50 years ago, which is located over 5,500 miles away from where I am right at this very second...

An Ode to Christmas Past.. Top Story - December 2020.
T'was several days ago, when all through my house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse - that was, until the Vocal Team messaged me about writing this story. A story celebrating all the beautiful, little details of my usual Christmas, which every year amalgamate into something innately special and personal. (Well, every year before this one.)

Crazy Covid Crisis (CCC)
What a Covid crisis this is? Locked in doors with the same faces you have to see everyday anyway, just more frequent as if that’s what we all want. Having to hear mommy all day and not hear dad’s name hardly as he escapes the madness leaving to find work, having we’ve been laid off due to Covid. Having my thought process screwed up with figuring out breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Usually all I worry about during the week is dinner since the kids are with their day time parents( teachers) for breakfast and lunch. What a Covid crisis this is? Damn, what other meats are their to feed a person? Tired of chicken, beef, fish etc makes you think why can’t we grow other animals that we can eat just like the plants we grow. Or maybe because I’m tired of the heavy rotation and not being without a job due to the pandemic. Shit at least I have food in the house and pray everyday I have a way to feed my family thanks to assistance. I’ll tell you this at least, if I wasn’t crazy before this Covid situation I’m definitely reaching that point now staring at the walls like a person in a white padded room.Who can stay sane having to worry about if it’s gonna be an eviction notice on their door. Or having to worry about if their children will get a Christmas this year. Or even worse, if their family will still be together after the pandemic is over. Sex four days a week or more is what’s getting me through it most of the time. Eat , job search, sex, watch tv, do laundry, bored then sex. Cook dinner sex, put kids to bed, sex. Yeah I guess I lied, that’s sex about 3-4 times a day four or more days a week. What a work out... But also good for my health I guess and It keeps us going.... If the hubby is happy so am I. M up house turned into Comedy Central with the outburst and funny jokes here and there. Makes me think all this time home, we could’ve had a family sitcom happening over here. Our children aren’t happy at all and they wonder why we look depressed and I say to myself, We’d be even more happier if the kids had a good Christmas, we never had a bad one until now and it’s something we’ll always remember and take to heart. Oh boy, what a Covid crisis this has been?

Gifts Worth Giving
Gifts Worth Giving There’s something about the look on someone’s face when they have received a gift that really hits home. Their eyes go bright and maybe even a bit teary. They take in one of those cleansing breaths, like they have been waiting to inhale all their lives. It takes a moment for them to come out of their euphoria enough to reacquaint themselves with words. When they try to speak, it may come out in a number of different ways, which eventually can be translated as the never-enough “thank you”. This is usually followed up with questions like “how did you know?” and “where did you find something like this?”.

Christmas is coming
First I want to say merry Christmas it’s on its way we are about to embark on a different way of having Christmas this year it is really different to me because it means I can’t visit friends or loved ones right now but don’t fret!! It is not over Christmas is still here to stay each and every year. I love the holidays around this time with all that is going on with Covid 19 Christmas brings hope and happiness. I am looking forward to it because there are some good things in this world than worrying about never seeing our families again like we used to never hugging are friends again like we used to or just hugging anybody for that matter. I think we need to come together now more than ever during COVID-19 and enjoy the holidays as much as we can this year. So friends who are reading this just letting you know some positive outlook to this year 2020 we will be OK. There’s a lot going around did I see that is good and positive people are out there still doing Christmas still shopping still looking for family presents friend presents and finding someway to give them a happy Christmas. And for those who have missed family grandma your grandpa your aunt your uncles you can still enjoy Christmas on Skype and make sure you send them some love! It is always good to Skype with your family on a daily basis just because you want to keep your Graham parents who are in a home and are not allowed to have visitors during this crucial time and reach out to them and love them this holiday season tell them you love them and don’t forget to remember we’re all in this together. Don’t be afraid to be creative during the holiday season there so many ideas how to bring your family to your home without them being in your home celebrating through technology now is the newest thing work all going through during this holiday season and because of the technology we have with Skype we are able to get together. So don’t be a apprehensive to bring your family closer together during the holidays. I have family who are spread out everywhere one is in Washington another one is in Arkansas I have to Skype with them because of Covid and that is OK too it’s like they’re in my house in a way. So don’t forget you don’t have to have a Debbie downer Christmas. Sprint spread joy in your family spread joy to your friends who are going through anxiety depression and loneliness there are people out there who are suffering from anxiety right now because of Covid. Give them some strength hope and wisdom that they can still have a good Christmas and still stay strong during this time. What I like to do is bake cookies and give them to you know my family and friends with a little note saying merry Christmas I am here for you. That’s a good way to tell your family and friends and your grandparents that you love Them and you’re here for them. I have made countless of cookies to give to neighbors and family and friends with a little Christmas cheer attached to it you can make a gift tag it says merry Christmas mom dad auntie whoever and just put them in a nice little cookie wrapping and give it to them and tell them you love them. Also it is so nice and they will thank you. I remember when I was younger I love getting gifts love gang surprises because I was a kid and I was thinking oh Santa Claus is coming down that chimney be Santa to the elderly out there who don’t have visitations to retirement homes resting places because they’re also in this Covid thing to where they can’t hug or see anyone. So spread some holiday cheer to them. I hope this letter brings you some comfort and happiness and encouraging you to never give up on yourself and always remember the spirit of Christmas this year is like a light through a tunnel trying to get through the rest of 2020. I know you can do it I know it’s hard out there right now but you can do it the way to do it is to believe and to always remember two yes continue to be cautious and don’t go in large crowds even if it looks tempting. The holidays are a big gatherings where people go shopping and there’s a lot of lines There’s a lot of people waiting to go into the stores now that the stores are shortened capacity wise. But never give up there’s always online there’s always you can get your gifts through a different way of virtual shopping. Also I love shopping on Amazon so if you were on Amazon person hooray. Giving gifts for Amazon is a lot easier than Standing in long lines in person at the store.
