It's Your Destiny
“Lexi, look over here. It's a tree frog.” Lilly, the youngest of the two loves animals. They were inseparable. Always Playing, always having fun. Lexi runs over to her sister to see the frog. “That's not a tree frog silly, it's a toad.” Lexi is a very intelligent 14 year old girl, who loves nature, history, science, and next to be an Loa in her family. The two sisters, along with Lexi’s best friend Gerry would walk down to the store at their corner mart, which is a popular place to shop in North Carolina. Their favorite place was the arcade underneath the store, only known to few, which helps to keep people from breaking in to steal the games and ATMs. They walked in and purchased their usual snacks. There was a new employee at the front counter, flirting with one of the customers. The kids grabbed their things and walked to the back stairwell and the knob wasn’t on the door. They weren’t used to seeing that there. And like all curious teens, Lexi opens the door and peaks in. “Lexi, that doesn’t look safe,” Gerry says. The lights were off. It was dark. Maybe she could just walk down to the light she knew that room like the back of her hand. She leaned in further and.. “Lexi….. Move AWAY FROM THE”…… Thud!

Her
The snowflakes are falling, covering the cracks in the walkway. My boots are leaving trails behind me, no matter how far I to pick my feet up. There’s not a noise tarnishing the silence of the night. No headlights peering through the darkness. Just a street lamp here and there, the ones that work that is.

Umbrage Unseen
Chapter one The sun had just set on a warm and beautiful summer night in the city. Julius was headed home with a small bag containing a pint of his wife's favorite ice cream. The store was only a few blocks away from his place and he had enjoyed the sunset on his walk there.

Little Black Book
Lillian woke up at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Her body ached and her mind felt cloudy. She couldn't determine if it was daytime or night time. She decided that she just couldn't lie in the bed any longer and would get up and make coffee. Maybe the sun would rise and if not, it didn't matter anyway. She had no where to go and no one to see. She would either sit up for awhile or go back to bed.

The Choice
The first thing he noticed was the carpets in the room: blood-red fabric laced with a hectic array of beige and black lines that didn’t seem to follow any pattern. The air felt heavy as he took a seat in the guest chair. A wiry man with circular glasses and a mismatched suit sat opposite him at a large oak desk, behind which were dozens of bookshelves ranging from law encyclopedias to directories of funeral services. If someone had asked him to describe what he expected to see today, he would have described this down to the last detail.

The sign is better
Picking up the small new black notebook and writing... I am grateful for.... The phone rings it is grandma again. She keeps forgetting that I can't help her like I used to. I wish it was different but the accident left me well, in this chair. Looking down at my little black notebook and thinking you helped save me from a life of self-pity. I am so glad I made a commitment to live a life of gratitude before the accident happened.

The Little Black Book
My Grandma’s always been kind of weird… Well I guess that’s no way to start a new journal is it? Besides, I never know, maybe this will be the next journal to be largely published and become famous in my death; or at the very least it’ll be made into some sort of crazy science fiction fantasy epic with all the big budgets and everything that comes with those type of big Hollywood affairs. After all these words that I am about to write down will seem pretty farfetched, I assure you though, this all really happened. I suppose I should introduce myself then, just in case there’s someone else who’s going to be reading this. My name is Sue Hardy, and what I’m about to write down in these very pages is nothing short of mind blowing.

My Second Skin
She sat looking at the letter in her hand in disbelief. Her Uncle John had passed away a month ago and the service had been short because of the pandemic. She never thought that she might be getting a bequest from him. They were not even very close. But the letter was right in front of her. $20,000.00 was hers. She had been given the money for no reason she could come up with but here was the letter, and now she had to decide what to do with it.
