Secrets in the Smoke
The fire started with a whisper. It crept from the base of the hill like a sleeping beast stirred awake, fed by dry grass and the relentless summer wind. By the time Marla saw the first flicker of orange from her kitchen window, it had already painted half the sky with smoke.

The Crimson Contract
The tavern’s door groaned open, dragging a cold wind behind it. All conversation stilled. A stranger entered, tall and cloaked in midnight blue, silver embroidery gleaming faintly like spider silk in moonlight. Beneath the hood, sharp gray eyes scanned the room with mechanical calm.

Midnight Confessions
The confessional booth was quieter than usual. The thick wood absorbed most of the sounds, and the fading incense left only a ghost of sandalwood in the air. Father Adrian leaned back in his seat, eyes closed, feeling the weight of another long day. It was nearly midnight. He was about to rise when the curtain on the other side rustled.

Bloood on the Tracks
The train screeched into the station at 12:47 a.m., half-empty, half-asleep. Rain tapped against the windows, rhythmic as a ticking clock. No one noticed the man in the black coat as he stepped onto the platform at Hawthorne Station, except the night porter—who would later swear the man didn’t blink once.

Web of Lies
The rain tapped against Mira Dalton’s apartment window like impatient fingers, but inside, all was silent except for the hum of her laptop. It was 2:13 a.m. The screen glowed in the dark, casting her face in pale light as spreadsheet after spreadsheet flickered open. On the surface, everything looked pristine — rows of revenue, columns of quarterly growth, margins tighter than a banker’s smile. Too tight. Too clean.

The Black Ledger
No one remembered when the Black Ledger was written, only that it was never meant to be found. Hidden for decades in the crumbling cellar of an abandoned estate in Bavaria, it was bound in blackened leather that felt strangely warm to the touch. The pages, thick and grainy, exhaled the scent of smoke and old blood. It was not a book of accounting, though it bore the name. It was something older, deeper—a catalog of choices made in shadow, histories unspoken, and pacts inked in silence.

Silent of Evidence
The cabin was too quiet. Detective Mara Venn stood in the middle of Professor Julian Hart’s study, surrounded by stacks of notes, old tape recorders, and wires snaking across the wooden floor like tangled veins. The fire had long gone cold, yet the scent of coffee still lingered in the air — faint, bitter, recent.

Marriage is a sacred bond—not just between two individuals, but between two families. It’s a promise to support each other through joy and sorrow, to understand, love, and respect your partner. But recent cases suggest that the purpose and cultural reasoning behind marriage have shifted dramatically. I’m sure you can guess what I’m referring to. Today’s case reveals the truth—Sonam didn’t kill her husband impulsively; she planned it since February, when Raja first heard her name. Sonam is not just another murderess—she may be the most cunning, calculating, yet seemingly innocent killer of this century. Here’s what really happened in this honeymoon murder.

The Sacrificial Lamb
My name is Henry Crane. I’m forty-two. I write books that are supposed to keep people up at night. Funny how that turned out. Ever since I was a kid, I was hooked on true crime, on the dark puzzles people leave behind. It was no surprise I ended up writing about them.

Runaway: A Twist of Fate (2009) Review
Considering how the last game ended, I was fully expecting it to start with the great big rescue. Imagine my surprise when it starts with Brian’s funeral. I was further surprised when he was not only convicted of murdering Colonel Kordsmeier but also declared insane and put in a psychiatric hospital. Like, wow, that’s a lot to take in at once. Then it turns out Brian faked his death to escape the hospital to try and clear his name? Honestly, that sounds like something he would do. A welcome twist on the series’ formula is that Gina was much more involved this time. No longer is she a damsel in distress, but a playable character. And her breasts are actually covered for once, thankfully. There is some narrating the past, as per usual, but things do mostly take place in the present time with new, quirky characters.

Poison Ivy. Content Warning.
It was dark tonight, really dark, no moon, just that damn flashing red light. The light was flashing in time with my heartbeat, thump, thump, thump. I sat there with his body in the trunk and I was surprisingly calm. I had a decision to make, turn right and go home, forget everything, or turn left and go to the desert to bury this body, then keep driving, live an unknown life.
