A Cry in the Darkness
The first time Areeba felt the weight of the world, she was only five. She didn’t know it was called grief. She didn’t know it was called loneliness. She just knew that while other girls were hugged and kissed goodnight, she sat on the cold floor outside her room, too afraid to cry loud enough for anyone to hear.

The Guy Next Door
The smell of fresh-cut grass drifted through the warm summer air, mixing with something sweeter — Mrs. Walker’s legendary apple pie cooling on the windowsill. Classic suburbia. Quiet streets, trimmed hedges, happy families. Nothing ever really happened here.

Beneath the Fifth Floor
The elevator hummed with a mechanical groan, the metal doors sliding open with a reluctant scrape. Detective Mara Keane stepped inside, the weight of the case pressing down like the stale air inside the building. The fifth floor was where it all began—and where it had gone horribly wrong.

Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle (2006) Review
Brian and Gina are back for another crazy romp. When a plane crash derails their vacation in Hawaii, Brian ends up alone in a jungle while Gina sinks to the bottom of a lake. Once again, it’s up to Brian to save the day while Gina is off helpless somewhere. While the dynamic is repetitive, among other things, there were enough new situations and people to keep things interesting. However, the sequel made the same mistakes of the first game, along with lasting a lot longer than it should have. Not to mention many of the puzzles required players to solve them wrong before solving them correctly, while others were just tedious.

The Cipher of Rue Royal
The Cipher of Rue Royal A Mimi Delboise Mystery By Gio Marron The brass nameplate on the door read "M. Delboise, Private Investigations" in letters that caught the morning light filtering through the French Quarter's narrow streets. Mimi Delboise adjusted the tilt of her hat and checked her pocket watch—eight-thirty sharp. Punctuality was a virtue she demanded of herself, if not always of her clients.

The Family Man Who Turned Evil
Horror! We may or may not like this genre, but I’m sure this story is going to impact you. When I was in middle school, even before my teenage years, I read this scary tale. I guess, I was too young to read it, but a translated version of the original Chinese story appeared in a magazine my father subscribed to.
