Finding The Genie
Introduction We all love the story of Aladdin and how he got the wishes from the Genie when he rubbed the lamp, and we would all like to be given a wish or two that would come true, but often even the simplest wishes may have unforeseen repercussions. We could wish for world peace, but that could be an Armageddon that destroys all life and therefore leaves the world at peace. I don't think that anyone who wishes for world peace would want that outcome.

Why I Love Conversation
Introduction Yesterday I spent about six hours on trains and had forgotten my Kindle so couldn't play Backgammon, or read one of the hundreds of books on there (though I could have read them on my phone, but I find reading books on a phone a bit of a bind after a few pages) so I had a lot of time to think about the various forms of one-to-one communications we have and how some are more appropriate than others depending on the circumstances.

The Seductive Neighbour. Content Warning.
I’ll never forget those softly spoken words. The way that she made eye contact while getting out of my car and softly uttered those words immediately got my mind racing with possibilities. It seemed to me as if they were thrown out almost as an afterthought, yet I couldn’t help wondering if there was an unspoken invitation there. The impact of them resonated with me for months.

Word of the Day: 聖域
I told off my mom while her friend was at the house. I just locked the door after she tried to get on me. I refuse to talk to her more than necessary. My nieces also came over. I think the youngest one is pregnant so I guess they were wanting to talk about that. I think she was trying to record me as I was leaving the room, but maybe not? I just got done crying so, I went to the bathroom, because I don't have time for that right now.

What I do to be without doubts
Everybody at some point in time has experienced doubts, whether it is about what they have to do or simply how things are going to turn out. It's quite a natural feeling we all get except that it can be destructive in certain scenarios. Having doubts, especially for an extended period, or even in the wrong context, could lead to catastrophic consequences. It might lead you to make the wrong decision, make a mistake, or even just be confused and lose your balance. Doubts are a little like fear, they give us a good measure of what to do and what not to do at the end of the day but we have to be careful not to dwell in them for too long, or else we might crash.

Secrets. Content Warning.
Have you ever looked back and thought about lies you told and secrets you kept in the past, and wondered why you told them or kept them – especially the ones that should have never been kept? She did. Everyday. Out of all of her past secrets and lies, there is one time in her life that stands out above the rest. One period where all she kept were secrets, and all she spoke were lies.

Betrayal's Betrayal
I started in denial, bypassed anger, bargaining, and depression, and went straight to acceptance, like a pilot smooth-sailing to point B. Or a robot incapable of processing emotions. Or just a very efficient human. Point being I should be burying body-wracking sobs into a pillow with the word fool scrawled across my face.

Part 2: Orphanage in Milan: My Experience
--- In Italy, there's a legend that when a child loses a tooth, if they put it under their pillow before bed, a mouse (or the tooth fairy, depending on the region) will come during the night, take the tooth, and leave money in exchange. I vividly remember the day I lost my first tooth. The caregiver on duty suggested I place it under my pillow and told me the story of the mouse, also recommending that I write down if I had any special wishes. I felt excited and a bit scared at the idea of a mouse coming at night to take my tooth and leave me money. I wondered: why would it give me money for a tooth? And what did it do with the tooth anyway? I found no answers and decided to ignore those questions. Instead, I wrote a note asking if the mouse could leave me enough money to buy a new toy car at the market. I phrased it as a question: "Could you leave me 1000 lire for a new toy car?", or something like that.
