Privileged politicians Psychotically, preening peacocks Painstakingly push patriarchal pronouncements Persuading paranoid “patriots”
Mind racing a mile a minute I can’t think Can’t concentrate I must clear my head The world is burning We go on like nothing is happening
Angry, drained, exhausted These are only a few words to describe how I feel right now As I look at a country that hates me I feel defeated
I am waiting on the common sense of America For the blind ignorance of some to end In ‘Merica, a county run by the bigotry of a few
“I don’t see color” The cry for people who live in a “post racial” world The reason you don’t see color is because you have your eyes closed
You tell me not to be angry Not to be afraid My emotions are not valid My tears are an overreaction That you voted for the lesser of two evils
As I sit here watching Purple Rain Letting these tears roll down my cheeks I think about what I am mourning A musician, a lyrical genius
