Eating Across the USA
Alabama Alabama is known for its smoked chicken and white sauce. This dish was made famous by Bob Gibson in 1925. He was the founder of Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q in Decatur. The sauce is simple but delicious. It is prepared with mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, and black pepper. This white sauce is rarely found outside of the state. White barbecue sauce can also be found on pulled pork sandwiches.

Don’t Forget to Remember
The Bee Gees were a pop group that consisted of three brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb formed in 1958. They became a popular trio in the late 1960s, and early 1970s and later during the disco era in the mid-to-late 1970s. They had an interesting blend of voices with Robin’s vibrato lead vocals and Barry’s R&B falsetto. This became their signature sound and they wrote all their own material.

Croatia is officially called the Republic of Croatia. It is a European country at the crossroads of Central and Southeast Europe. Its coastline lies on the Adriatic Sea. The largest city and capital of the country is Zagreb in the northwest along the Sava River.

Sailing on the Sea
“Sloop John B” was originally published as “The John B. Sails”. It was a Bahamian folk song from Nassau. In 1966 the American rock band The Beach Boys recorded the song as a folk rock adaptation. It was released as a single and on their album Pet Sounds. The song was ranked at number 276 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.

Beautiful Juneau
The capital city of the US state of Alaska is also known as the City and Borough of Juneau. It is located on the Gastineau Channel and the Alaskan panhandle. Of interest is that there is no road leading to Juneau. This small coastal city can only be reached by air or sea.

This lovely and talented lady is a British and Australian singer, songwriter and actress. Olivia Newton-John who had won four Grammy Awards, had five number one singles, ten Billboard Hot 100 singles and two number one Billboard 200 solo albums. Her albums have gone platinum and gold. The music she sang ranged from pop to country to adult contemporary and she has sold around 100 million records all over the globe. She became very popular after starring with John Travolta in the musical “Grease”.
