Exploring Ethiopia
Located on the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea the Danakil Depression is one of the driest and hottest places on Earth. Here you can find active volcanoes, salted basins, hot springs and a lava lake. It sits below sea level and is the lowest point in Africa and second in the world after the Dead Sea. Despite the heat, this is one amazing place to take a closer look at so come prepared and enjoy the beauty.

Ljubljana on the Ljubljanica River
Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. The symbol of this impressive and beautiful city is the dragon. The dragon dominates the iconic Dragon Bridge and the popular tourist attraction Ljubljana Castle. Ljubljana is a green city and has many lovely parks and a botanical garden. Its largest park is Tivoli right in the center. Tourists enjoy taking cruises on the Ljubljanica River.

Two Memorable Bands
Freddie and the Dreamers This is a really dreamy kind of name for a rock band. These guys were British and they had a number of hit records back in the 1960s. Onstage they also put on an act with comic antics for everyone’s delight. They continued to play for their fans until December of 2000 playing for the last time at Margate Winter Gardens in the UK.

The Horn of Africa is a peninsula in Northeast Africa, jutting out hundreds of kilometers into the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, lying along the southern side of the Gulf of Aden. The countries in the Horn are Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia.

Food Tour of Europe
Sweden Kottbullar are popular Swedish meatballs. They are prepared with ground beef or a mix with pork or veal. Then seasoned with onions, salt, pepper, and allspice. They are shaped into small, round meatballs and browned in hot butter. The dish is accompanied by lingonberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and thick gravy on the side.

Most Frightening Reality
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn’t my own. This thought greatly disturbed and frightened Kathy. She had just purchased the antique mirror from an antique shop in Boston, Massachusetts. She and her husband lived in a townhouse where she worked at home on a computer running her own business. Her husband worked for an advertising agency. She had long wanted to get a framed full-length mirror so that she could see how she looked when dressed to go out. That day she had been in the city center and happened to see the mirror through the shop window of an antique store. She had bought it and two men had just delivered it and placed it in a corner of the bedroom near the dresser.

The Beauty of New Brunswick
The attractions of New Brunswick, one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada are directly related to the Bay of Fundy and its tides. In this funnel-shaped bay, tides occur twice daily. The rushing waters carved out the coastline which is marked by cliffs, sea caves, and fantastic rock formations.

Girls From the 1960s
The Shangri-Las an American pop girl group was popular with their teen-type heartbreak songs. The girls came together in high school in New York City. They were two sets of sisters Mary Weiss lead singer, Elizabeth “Betty” Weiss and identical twins Marguerite “Marge” and Mary Ann Ganser. Their first recorded songs were in 1963 and included “Simon Says” and “Wishing Well”. They came out with an album in 1965 titled Shangri-Las 65!

Beautiful Bern
The capital of Switzerland, Bern is an amazing city that was built around a crook in the Aare River. Its origins can be traced back to the 12th century. You can see impressive Medieval architecture in the Old Town, which is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. You can have wonderful views of the Aare River and the Alps. The city offers many sculptures and a multitude of different fountains. It is the birthplace of Einstein’s Theory of Relativity and the home of Toblerone chocolate. Bern is easy to explore since it sits on a peninsula and everything is close together.
