Countryside
Six months. It has been six months since I left it all behind: my parent's house in the suburbs, my high school, my responsibilities, all for him. And for these six months, we have been running, hiding, and hoping. In and out of hotel rooms, under bridges, inside of caves, trying to stay safe. My boyfriend and I don't belong anywhere anymore. Not since Eli, the man that I love, identity was revealed. He is a monster. At least everyone thinks he is, but I know better.

The Right Thing
Previously on Knife Skills The party was over; it went on longer than anticipated, until about 2:30 AM. The night, having gone better than expected, ended with several strong drinks with Rhiannon, an old friend whose reputation has caught my attention. She got a ride home from one of my chauffeurs, I insisted. No need for my new partner to catch an Uber when I have many employees under my belt. After her departure, I received a call from a potential client, a wealthy man from the Middle East who wants to sterilize his teen daughter to keep her from procreating. A very powerful statement for his two younger daughters to honor their father. Sounds like my specialty.

Born To Be A Star
No matter where we come from, we are all born to do something. Whether it is to become a teacher, a doctor, a painter, a writer, or an actor, everyone has a purpose or goal that determines their life. Maybe some of us had a silver spoon and an unlimited bank account, never having to work, or perhaps we are poor, working three jobs while going to school, or a full-time student dedicated to a life of academia. Well, Elizabeth Short was none of these things, but inevitably, she was born to be a star!

Meep's Playlist
As we all know, Pride month started a few days ago. Out of respect, love, and acceptance for those under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, particularly those who are close to me, I have made a playlist celebrating individuality. My teen sister, I am going to call her "meep" (it is a long story!), has just recently come out of the theoretical closet as a Pansexual Non-binary female. Her preferred pronouns are she/her/they/them, with no specific issue with either one, so I will be using both of them in reference. She is young and has had a lot of bad situations and relationships happen to her, but she is a good young woman. I thought long and hard of a way to show my support for her, while also being creative and arrived at a conclusion: a playlist. So here I am.

Open Letter to the Marines
Disclaimer: This letter is for the Marines specifically; however, I respect and support any of the military branches that keep us safe at home and afar. I come from an extensive military background since the 1940's, so I take my dedication to soldiers very seriously. Please do not misunderstand my intentions. Thank you and God bless.

His Touch
”All I want is your lips against mine right now.” I whispered into my cellphone, quivering with desire. My love has been away for over six weeks, some family trip, I heard. I don't know; I don't care. One thing is for sure; I miss him dearly. His sunkissed skin, his sandy blonde hair, his soft lips, his rock-hard body. Everything.

Save the Turtles. Top Story - May 2021.
Why won't anybody please think of the turtles!!! Image from Sport Diver.org Image from Australian Geographic Pretty dramatic, huh? Rest assured, these pictures are tame compared to the graphic, heartbreaking, gory ones I found while researching my topic. Due to my respect for wildlife, and my mom's intense love for turtles, I won't be showing those. Yes, the reality is often darker than it needs to be. But, if it gets the point across, then it's worth the trouble.

Vocal Changed My Life
Here's some background information on yours truly. Believe it or not, but I used to be a prolific writer and poet, with aspersions to become either a well-known poet or a famous fantasy/romance author by the time I was 19-years-old. Big dreamer I was! However, adult life isn't so simple.
