My Green Home. Top Story - May 2021.
For my Wave Makers challenge, I chose to break down my home and our “green” habits. Allow me to begin by saying that we, my household and I, are not a 100% super green, eco-friendly home. We aren't, but the title isn't a lie either. More or less, we live by the ideology that if we don't need it, we don't use it and that if it's not safe enough to be recycled or broken down, then we don't need to be using it at all. With this in mind, we still have wasteful tendencies to an extent, but we try to make a difference in our choices to help out our beautiful planet.

Paisley Knows Best!
Anybody that knows me on a personal level is aware that I am very old-fashioned. I love old hairstyles, car designs, books, movies, music, and clothing choices. This challenge exists for us to relive a fashion trend or style that we want to come back into existence or something that invokes a sense of nostalgia. Something that takes us back in time to simpler days. Honestly, I love this challenge concept! Reliving fashion trends from decades ago that has, unfortunately, become retired is a great way to keep the memories alive.

In the Woods
Capturing the wild means to capture nature and all its glory. That's a big challenge. On the one hand, you don't want to disturb the delicate balance by getting too close, but on the other, you can't help but to admire such raw, powerful beauty. Stranded at Sea
My mind is foggy. Adrenaline is pumping, and my ears are ringing; my throat is full and choking. Of what? Bitter, burning, salty ocean water. Why? I'm struggling to stay afloat in the Atlantic Ocean, far from any civilization. That's right; it's coming back to me. I fell overboard! From where? My cruise ship. I was on a trip to visit the Caribbean for a well-deserved vacation. I was so excited; I'd never been on an exotic trip before. It was a massive win at the grocery store in a drawing, of which I never won anything. I dashed home and began packing shortly afterward. The ship would leave first thing in the morning.

Crimson Shores
All I see is darkness; I feel emptiness, the crippling isolation followed by a sense of unwavering anxiety and nervousness. Potentially eternity goes by with no proper understanding of length, but time passes all the same. I feel it, but nothing else. Suddenly, sensations of all sorts overwhelm me. I'm lying on something, a texture of grainy beach sands. A scent follows that of salt-kissed ocean air; a sound comes of raging waves, a temperature follows that of warm sunshine on my ice-cold flesh. That's right; I have a body. I'm a person! A realization of my identity, that's a good thing. Right? I don't know, but then again, I don't remember much right now.

5 Reasons to Love a Gamer
Whether they admit it or not, most people love video games. I know the subject is controversial, but hear me out. They allow us to escape from our reality. Sometimes it just becomes too much, you know? Stress, bills, jobs, quarantine, relationships, and social media flood our minds with constant anxiety and negativity. But video games make all of that float away on fluffy clouds of cotton candy. And you know what’s better than playing video games? Finding someone to play with! Falling in love with someone that has the same interests as you is rare and wonderful, so it’s important to embrace it.

Vaccine Diary (Day 5)
Dear Diary, Finally, I have good news. After all this time of me suffering from the side effects of my covid-19 shot, I have relief from most of them! It took a lot of time, and even more tender love and care from my adoring fiancee and various fluffy animals. I still have a few lingering side effects, but for the most part, I feel good. I wanted to list off the symptoms I still have and one I forgot to mention:

Hometown BBQ
For anyone who doesn't live in the South, let me explain something to you, BBQ can make or break your town! It sounds dramatic, but it's true. Down here, good homemade barbecue is a staple of Southern pride and culture. Ever since the 19th century when the Spanish Conquistadors brought it over to the US, after first discovering it in the Carribean, it became a hit in the Southern US because of the large number of pigs that were available. Vaccine Diary (Day 4)
Dear Diary, It's me again, writing as per usual about my wacky experiences with the first shot of my covid-19 vaccine series. I wanted to start with a disclaimer about this journal because some folks that have read it believe that it's a fake account of symptoms meant to cause fear and discord amongst my fellow humans. Honestly, I don't see a motive behind keeping a detailed report of what is essentially the flu, but not everyone has common sense. I'm here to set the record straight: this is real, I have a vaccine card picture to prove my immunization, I had covid-19 back in February, which I recovered from reasonably well, so I know what I'm talking about. I have experienced some crazy flu symptoms from the shot, even if only moderate ones.

Vaccine Diary (Day 3)
Dear Diary, Today started like any typical day for me. I got home from my 11-7 job at 7:30; I went to the store to get some food for my lunch around 7:45 and was back home by 8:00. I ate my breakfast, drank my usual coffee, took my vitamins. Everything seemed to be fine, but then reality set in pretty heavy for me. One, today was my dad's bday, and he's no longer with us, and two, the shot is STILL kicking my butt up, down, and sideways. The symptoms continue to be a nuisance:
