Trapped..
Dear Reader, Thank you in advance for taking some time to read this sonnet. My grammar, spelling, and punctuation may be off. This is due to my brain injury, and I left it this way intentionally so you can have the raw feelings. Thanks again for reading. Enjoy!

#SexHairDon'tCare
You're like me, you actually LIKE having sex with your husband. Yeah? The passion is still there, the fire is there, you love each other, you're happily married, etc. Except, maybe sex has become a smidgen.. shall we say, boring? Mundane? Just the same, time after time? Every time it's the same thing. The same position, the same process. You need something new; you need some way to spice up your sex life. You both feel it, hell, maybe you have even talked about it, but HOW? What do you do to practically get things more exciting in the bedroom?

Hey Mama..
Hey Mama, In early September of 2018, you and I had to take one of the hardest trips of our lives. We had to fly across the country to pick up Seth from the hospital after his mind malfunctioned. That trip was hard enough for me, being there with my divorced parents, to pick up my brother. But I can't imagine how hard it must have been for you: to have to once again be the glue that held everyone together; to have to step back into that role after over ten years of freedom from it.

Before Lockdown
So there is apparently this trend on social media to tell everyone what you were doing just before lockdown. Since we are a little over one year from when the lockdown began. I have seen quite a few stories of things people have done. Vacations, moving, etc.

Get ya stunna shades on..
As the bus bumped and squeaked under me while riding home that day, I peered out the window. It was bright, the sun was shining it was truly a beautiful day. My light blue-grey eyes didn’t care for the piercing brightness of the sun. I often received compliments about the beauty of my eyes, people adored the blue hue that I wore. I didn’t want anyone else to see. I felt uncomfortable. Uncertain. Unsure.

Hate, it’s appropriate
Mama always said hate is a strong word. But, it’s appropriate. I hate you. She said it means you wish the person never existed, or you wish death on them. Again, appropriate. I hate you. With a passion. I hate you so much, I wish you didn’t exist, I wish you death a thousand times over, I wish you to die a slow and agonizing, painful horrible death.

Jump Start
IN THE NIGHT My mind awakens. I don’t know the time. My husband is sleeping next to me, I can hear his soft, rhythmic breathing. It's comforting to me. The pup is at our feet, I feel her head resting on my leg. The clock taunts me from across the room with its almost inaudible tik-toc. Not knowing the time drives me batty, but my eye mask keeps it dark, I am almost too groggy to care, I fall quickly back to sleep...
