Introduction Here's a thing. You are away for a weekend, that's a set number of days. You book accommodation, travel, take enough clothes and stuff you need for the duration, so you are ready for a good break away. Of course this could be work rather than pleasure but then something happens to throw a spanner in the works.

A Great City Playlist
Introduction I was listening to "True Stories" by The Talking Heads and the song "City of Dreams" is absolutely gorgeous. Then I started thinking that would be a great theme for a playlist and losts of songs popped into my head that are about cities or reference cities.

The Building
The Preamble Big buildings with little or no windows disconcert or scare me. This is the inspiration for the following story. I wasn’t sure how I could play this out but then in a dream state I took it the recently closed Vocal Challenge which you can see below. Of course this is too late, but wouldn’t have made the cut anyway (that’s just a joke)

The image is taken from Vocalzone Introduction Around 1977 I was in a band called The Bok and we touted our demos to various record companies but the only ones who took any notice were Rabid Records. You can hear the demos below, but this is essentially about the general "Madchester" phenomenon, Factory Records, Tony Wilson, The Hacienda and other probably unrelated stuff.

Be Body Positive
Introduction As a child, I was fat, although I didn't realise it until I started getting called names at school. My mum always gave me lots to eat, but I still played football, went on mentally long walks and rode my bike to school (a couple of miles), so it's not like I was lazy though I did read a lot. My brother did the same and was thin as a rake, so go figure that.
