Love and Marriage with Pride. Top Story - December 2025.
Several years ago, my good friend asked me to write an affidavit or a formal letter about our long-term friendship and my knowledge and observation of his relationship with his partner. Why, you would ask? It had nothing to do with the fact that it was a same-sex marriage, which was already legal at the time. It had everything to do with my friend's partner being an immigrant. He had arrived in the US on a fiance visa which was later converted to a conditional green card. A couple of years later, they were petitioning to change the conditional green card to a non-conditional one, which would give my friend's partner a path to citizenship.

New Writing Crypto Coin
The very little I know and understand about block chains and crypto currencies comes from one and only legendary NYC venture capitalist, Fred Wilson. In blogger sphere, he goes by AVC, currently publishing his blog on Paragraph, a new writing platform for ideas. He has developed a remarkable habit and discipline of blogging daily for over 25 years now (reminds me of our own Vocalite Cody Dakota Wooten in this respect).

Laghami Church in Svaneti
If you are not familiar with the history of Christianity in Svaneti, Georgia, you would not guess this building is a church. It looks more like a very old house, with no distinct Georgian church dome or bell tower. The only thing suggesting it’s a religious structure is the cross on its roof and the cemetery on its grounds.

My professor friend K and I went for a hike to the mountains around the town of Mestia in Svaneti, the highest region in Georgia. We wanted to see the Koruldi Lakes near the glacier at the foot of the two-peak Ushba mountain of the Greater Caucasus Range separating Georgia and Russia.

My 2025 Vocal Community Stories
Following Rachel Deeming's suggestion at the beginning of the year, I challenged myself to write at least one story for each of the Vocal Communities throughout 2025. There are 48 Communities now, and I have written for 30 of them in over four years on Vocal, before 2025. In this earlier story, I made an inventory of my best stories (often earning a Top Story badge) in these communities, but I cannot edit it anymore so I'm creating this one.

My Long and Short Hair Care
I’ve always had long hair. Until 52, that is, when I got tired of it and cut it, first in half to my waist and then even shorter, above the shoulder line. I'm 55 now and still enjoy it short although sometimes I look at my old pictures with long hair and sigh deeply.

Putin Is A Known Killer
When in February 2024 American right-wing pundit Tucker Carlson was asked about Putin killing Alexey Navalny, he famously replied that killing people comes with the leader’s job. All political leaders have to kill someone at some point, Tucker said, including ours (American). I was irked by that callous remark as it showed how Tucker was trying to whitewash Putin's criminality with whataboutism.

My Potent Experience
About four years ago, I had severe anxieties and insomnia issues. I tried everything to get better sleep, starting with melatonin pills I'd only taken when traveling before, to overcome jet lag, and ending with all sorts of herbal teas, meditation, and deep sleep music.
