I Remember
Dear Love, I remember the feel of your breath on my skin and the beat of my heart in my chest I remember the way my breath trembled within as you stole what resistance was left * I remember the way my name fell from your lips as you surrendered your love, no reprise And the depths that you went, while taking a dip in the pools of my innocent eyes * I remember my will slowly becoming yours as I gave everything that I was I remember unlocking each one of my doors and feeling no reason to pause * I remember the moment you shattered it all for your promises were made of glass Every moment was planned to answer your call as your feelings for me quickly passed * I remember the look of shock in your eyes as I packed, taking back what was mine I remember the horror and shock of surprise when I longed once again to be fine. * Oh, the traces of love we so eagerly carve on our hearts, our souls and our minds When we would have been better to cautiously starve for another, more gentle and kind * Yet, the heart wants what it wants, and that battle is fierce, The humbled broken, now give no response as the poison from your kiss casually pierced For was there ever really a chance? Goodbye, Me

Mother Nature
Dear Mother Nature: We are in awe * Fingers black and branched like trees wicked comes upon the breeze Brings a grown man to his knees with vapored breath for mercy, please * She rides the clouds and rules the air her power, none - you can compare Behind her lays despair and want her face forevermore will haunt * Forecasters try to track her wrath

Ticket To Paradise
As Darrell's mother tucked him in, he stroked her face. He was young, but he knew what tired looked like, he definitely understood what tired felt like, and she was exhausted. Since the day he had been diagnosed, she suffered through everything he did. Yet, with an unbelievable gentleness and grace, she comforted him and held his hand until he fell asleep. Darrell had always been an energetic boy, running 100 miles an hour, with an imagination that amazed everyone he met. But lately, he could barely sit up by himself, it had been months since he was able to walk or even stand by himself. His mom tried to tell him everything was going to be ok, but Darrell knew...his body couldn't lie.
