I write this now because these are people and matters that are important and shaped my life. This is a precaution in case I am unable to share these things in person, one never knows where life will take you.

Chill breeze whispered through the leaves. A quiet rustle that was comforting to Sar. Still as she could be, she watched. Her son had recorded her grandbaby’s graduation ceremony. Sar hadn’t been able to attend, she was able to watch it now though and that was good enough.

Kaycee sat in the corner of the bar, staring into her drink. Well not into it, one could hardly stare into a pint of Guinness. Her headspace felt very not good. It was a problem she’d been having for days. It felt as though she were trapped in molasses or quicksand. Every step she took felt as if it gained her no ground.

Tapping Into the Core of Me. Top Story - November 2021.
Much to my surprise nearly a decade ago I participated in my first big obstacle race. The first of two Tough Mudders (and I did a Spartan for good measure). It wasn’t something I ever thought of myself doing back then, until a friend decided she wanted to lose weight and her goal was to complete a TM. She dragged a group of us into her goal and I found myself committing to it, no matter how ridiculous it sounded. In the end she didn’t do the race but the rest of us did. Somewhat unexpectedly I found I loved it. When the event came back the following year, I was happy to jump right back into that starting pit.

Don’t Hate On The Sidekick, and Other Gripes
We used to say we liked or didn’t like something, now that language is so much harsher and it’s pulling me down. I recently watched Shang-Chi and have to say I really enjoyed it. Yes I am a Marvel fan, in fact at one time avidly consumed a great number of Marvel comics though that was quite a number of years ago. I am also a fan of action movies, I really enjoy watching and dissecting fight sequences. To this end I have seen a number of posts come across my social media feeds that are trying to harsh my buzz of enjoyment, though the one by the bus driver dissecting the bus fight scene, with a knowledge of busses, and the San Fran streets was actually accurate and funny.

It was all Kane could do to stop the eyeroll. Damn the fickle fortunes, they were evil bitches and that’s all there was to it. He was a air ship navigator, trained by the best to be the best, yet nearly every day he wondered how the hell he ended up here. He'd been so naive when he graduated from the Academy. The lure of good money too strong. The glamour of moving in the circles of the wealthy.

Behind the Wire
I look out to the trees in a quiet moment. The blue and gold clouds of the morning sky are scarred by rows of razor wire. If someone had told me two years ago that I’d be spending my days locked behind this wire with the dregs of society, I’d have laughed in their face. Seriously. By that stage of my life I had already experienced so much and there are still so many things I have yet to do. My bucket list seems to get longer every year.

Birthing a Book
Birthing a book can be daunting. It’s a statement of fact and if you’ve gone through the process with no bumps along the way, then good'o for you and don’t tell me about it. I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was a kid banging out stories on my mum’s old typewriter, and technically I’ve been once since 2017 when I published my first book.

I love the excitement that adorns faces when people meet those who have created the worlds they have embraced. Fandoms make me happy, I gave a lot of time to helping fans get close to those who created the material that is the foundations of such things - I volunteered in the photo studio for a pop culture convention (those stories can be found here).

The Final Double Act
It was a sigh, that came from deep within, when The Fixer checked on the happenings at the White estate and noticed the final act appeared to be underway. In fact, it was a final double act, if that were a thing, and The Fixer was relieved to see the beginning of the end.
