The Reinvention of Kitty Sunderson
I do hope Topher Payne, who created Kitty for the play Perfect Arrangement, doesn't mind this additional chapter. Having played Kitty night after night, a thought came to me, and as I wondered on it, this whole scene came and I just had to get it on paper. Please note that this play was set in the fifties at a turbulent time for those in the LGBT+ communities and therefore so is this piece.

The Night Creatures Series
Burn Bright - Bk 1 Retra is a Seal – that is she is from the sealed community, a community cut off from those outside it. She is marked as an outcast, a behaviour strip to control some of her actions has been attached to her body. Despite the pain of her actions she is determined to escape. Unlike her brother, Joel, she doesn’t really want to go to Ixion, she has no real desire to party and seek pleasure like the rest of those who choose to go. Ruzalia, is a priate who raids the boats, pulling certain people off them, no-one seems to know why, so getting to Ixion is the first challenge.

If you've read some of my stuff you will know I am a huge champion of woman supporting women. We waste so much time competing with each other when we'd all be better off if we celebrated each other, and our wins big and small. It goes without saying that I have women in my life who make things better and my loyalty to them remains strong as I want them to always be the best them they can be.

Celebrating Womanhood. Top Story - March 2025.
Celebrating Ourselves March is recognised as Women’s History Month with 8th being known as International Women’s Day. As a friend said on the day, it is a day when a lot of people focus on negative statistics – assaults against women, intimate partner violence, pay disparities. All these things are important discussions. These are big discussions though, my friend’s thoughts turned mine to smaller but no less important matters.

Hazbin Hotel - Wicked Fun
I came from from a trying week at work, with a crashing headache and mental fatigue, I wanted nothing more than to curl up on my couch with my new book and forget the world for a while. My daughter took one look at me and said "Wanna watch Hazbin Hotel with me?" She was on the last episode of season one. When I suggested she might not want to watch it again, she pfft me.

Violent Night
What is it with genuinely shitty families at the heart of Christmas movies, yes I’m talking about you, McCallisters. I love Christmas. I love presents, I love giving. I love the spirit of Christmas. So I guess it might not make sense that a movie which is really about Santa beating the stuffing out of people, as opposed to enjoying turkey stuffing, brings me joy.
