Can you write something happy for once?
Reading back a few of my stories, I felt guilty that I had allowed my family to read them, too. As if I had left my diary carelessly open on the kitchen counter. During a conversation with my uncle, he said that he can tell I am doing better because my stories do not worry him as much. 'They still worry me,' he said, 'but not as much as they did before.' Even, reuniting with an old colleague, he asked me, 'Can you write something happy for once?'

The Stage Is A Cage. Runner-Up in Pride Under Pressure Challenge.
She pretends to be straight so she can afford to live. Though, she enjoys being a stripper, she really does. It is who she dances for that she does not like. Look at them, all dressed in identically drab grey suits. They have the same haircut and watches that are almost as big as their egos. While the way she glistens from sweat underneath the spotlight is sexy, these men look like they have just come out of a deep-fat fryer. They make her feel a bit ill. Yet, here she is, grinding her waist on one of their laps while they tuck twenties into her G-string.

I Resign From Being The Other Woman
I resign from being The Other Woman. The Other Woman is not only somebody’s mistress. She is the woman that husbands stare at across the shoulders of their wives. She is who wives despise and girlfriends fear. The Other Woman cannot engage in a conversation with a man without him finding any way to reference his wife, his girlfriend or another woman he is dating. She is mocked for her beauty and viewed as a side quest that will only lead to the real treasure. Essentially, The Other Woman is the woman who is never chosen first.

Meals I Ate Recently That I Cannot Stop Thinking About
There are moments in your life that you think about often from the day they were born. For me, these moments are usually contained inside a bowl or on a plate. To this day, I still think about that apple tart tatin from The Savoy Grill that I consumed years ago. In this article, I share a handful of dishes (and drinks) that were so tasty, it felt only right to tell someone about them.

The Island of Longing
You must know by now that I am not a typical travel writer. When I visit somewhere new, I do not document the top ten sights to see or, despite my adoration for food, the best places to eat there. I rarely depart from my travels feeling relaxed or refreshed. Instead, I return to my home with newfound lessons. What I questioned during my recent trip to Rhodes: Is longing vital to living a good life, or does it only make you depressed?
