Take me as I am or leave me.
Loving you is exhausting. There are so many rules. Too many things to remember. What I can and cannot say. Who must hear my words, who must not. Do you not understand by now that I cannot disguise my emotions? It diminishes my soul just too much for me to bear. I refuse! Take me as I am or leave me. My heart will remain yours whether you accept it or not.

Love is more than…
It seems like all I write about is you. God, is it boring. I do not want to be this writer. I do not want to be this woman. There is so much more to life than the nights my longing cries hit a pillowcase. Love is more than you not loving me too. It is lemon pie and jazz and black coffee. It is pho with my sister in a quiet corner. Love is dancing until I sweat. It is overflowing bookshelves and flicking through magazine pages with feet swaying in the air. Love is more than you loving her instead of me.

On Being Nice To Men
There are certain lines in my poems that I hold dearer to me than the others. These are the lines that I want displayed on my walls or, indeed, on my skin. “On Being Nice To Men” is one of my most treasured poems, which I recently performed live to an audience. Their supportive clicks spoke the lines that hit their hearts the most. In this version of my poem, I have bolded those that make me especially proud. Though, art does speak in different languages to its observer than intended by the artist.

How To Eat In North London
My favourite activity is eating. Whether I am catching up with friends or I have a day all to myself, I tend to venture into the centre of London for a cup of coffee or a plate of food. However, cultivating my favourite places to drink and dine that are close to my home for this article, I became flushed with a sensation of gratitude and blessing. Of course, the city may offer more in terms of gastronomic status. Though, the places I have listed in this article deserve to be known just as well. They lack a capitalist atmosphere which can only be achieved by a warm staff and the food they put love and care into before serving to their customers.
