An F-Word Limerick. Content Warning.
The F-word might be the perfect word. “Really?” you ask. Can you think of another four-letter word as versatile? It’s a noun and a verb, and if you put an “ing” on the end of it, it becomes the universal adjective and adverb. Put an “er” on the end of it and it says how you really feel about someone.

A Veteran's Day Limerick
“The Veterans Day National Ceremony is held each year on November 11th at Arlington National Cemetery. The ceremony commences with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by Veterans’ organizations and remarks from dignitaries. The ceremony is intended to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces.” – VA.gov

An Alternative Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is around the corner. It is a food and family extravaganza. The grocery stores are locked and loaded. There are many places that offer prepared Thanksgiving dinners. And, for those who want to forego cooking and cleaning and catering to relatives that they have to pretend to like, there are many restaurants that will be serving Thanksgiving dinners. I have exercised this option successfully many times and had some exceptional Thanksgiving dinners. Had my fill, paid the bill and then went home to watch football and chill.

The Deviled Egg Can Be Devilish
Today is National Deviled Eggs Day and deviled eggs are being mentioned as great appetizers for the Thanksgiving feast. They are definitely tasty and colorful and when piped, food art…but starting off a family and friends celebration with sulfur bombs??? Do you really want the answer to the question “How was your Thanksgiving?” to be “It was a gas – literally and figuratively!” Of course, once the tryptophan from the turkey and the overeating kicks in and the snoring starts, who is going to notice.

A Trick or Treat Limerick
It is officially here. Overeating season. It starts with Halloween, moves on to Thanksgiving, after that it is an avalanche rolling down the mountain with Christmas, and New Years until it slams into the Super Bowl. Then clothes don't fit and it is New Year's resolution time.

Life Requires An Occasional Lube Job
Classical Art Memes and limericks go together like hand and glove, and in this case a gloved hand about to perform a prostate exam. I stuck a word in this one that I had previously inspired a limerick and was a perfect fit for this meme’s limerick. A musing fusing, so to speak.

I Must Be Really Clever
The quote has been attributed to both Abraham Lincoln and Mark Twain. However, Garson O'Toole, the pen name of a man who has tracked down the true origins of hundreds of quotes on his website Quote Investigator, has researched the quote and determined that “the origin of the quote "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt," has been wrongly attributed to both to Abraham Lincoln and Mark Twain. – from an interview on NPR All Things Considered

A Couple of What the Gym and the Bathroom Have in Common Limericks
When I saw this meme, my silly brain started spinning. I tend to shy away from “bathroom humor,” but when something like this meme sets it up, I feel as if I have an obligation to knock it down.

Who Needs Relationships?
There was a time when finding a husband or wife was something that was expected of people. It was the “normal” thing to do. But now there is a “new normal” and not getting married is a part of it. Half of American marriages end in divorce. Divorce is expensive and traumatic with the loss being measured in more than just money. There is the loss of self-esteem and the loss of self-confidence in being able to make the right choices. Now many people forgo marriage for the independence of single life, willing to own what choices they make and taking responsibility for their own sexual satisfaction. People that choose to remain single are confident that they can navigate Life better on their own.
