A Veteran's Day Limerick
A day to honor those who served

“The Veterans Day National Ceremony is held each year on November 11th at Arlington National Cemetery. The ceremony commences with a wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknowns and continues inside the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors by Veterans’ organizations and remarks from dignitaries. The ceremony is intended to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces.” – VA.gov
The Oath Of Enlistment
I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
America’s Sacred Freedom depends
On the Constitution our military defends.
To those who proudly served
Our respects more than deserved
For what being a Veteran transcends.
