What is Your Side Hustle?
The coffee shop is filled with the usual sounds of typing away on laptops and grinding of coffee beans. I am here watching people, those that I can call the “modern gentlemen of Renaissance” all of them, possibly, have their own business besides their jobs. The woman sitting next to me is retouching pictures in between phone orders for a corporate position. The man at the window is typing, but his tablet shows Etsy metrics. It makes me wonder: what is your side hustle?

My New Year's Resolution
It is a period in the life of a society that finalizes the last second of the calendar year at the end of 31st Dec and starts the first second of the calendar year in 1st Jan. Semester break also brings in a pause or change where people are able to reflect and redesign themselves. To many people, the beginning of a year is commonly associated with setting goals, or in other words, making changes, no matter how slight, to become a better person. My New Year’s resolution for 2025 is going to be new beginnings, as this idea is a cornerstone in people’s personal development and life changes.

Should I Stop Hoping Now?
The final sign of autumn’s turnover was leaving the park and as the chill started to set in and the wind blew stiff through the park. And once, I woke up and realized that I was sitting on this same old rusty bench, that we used to hold each other, talk about our dreams. The city around me seemed not to notice my turmoil and continued on its usual pace despite the silence in my heart. It had been eight months since she broke up with me, and I couldn't help but wonder: should I stop hoping now?

The Biggest Red Flag That I Have Noticed on the First Date
Electric Avenue is still a thriving street in Westlands, Nairobi. Lamps are lit indicating early evening, the brightness of the neon lights illuminating the crowds waiting for the night. It was here that I was on a proper first date with Zoe, the lady from the dating site whose description of herself as an ‘adventurer’ and a ‘lover of concerts’ caught my attention.

Things I Love About Christmas
The chill of the morning frost prickled at my nose when I ventured out into the dim light of evening. It was at dusk, when the sun had only slightly touched the horizon, leaving behind a royal shade of pink and purple. The first snow was falling skillfully with the gentle movements: the new layer covered the already snow-covered surface. I wrapped my scarf around my neck and smiled; nothing in the world could compare with the excitement that Christmas gave me.
