The Dating App Dilemma.
I’ve done the dating app thing. More times than I’d care to admit, I’ve created an account, swiped left, swiped right, and then promptly deleted it after a few days. Every single time. It’s like some sort of digital cycle I can’t escape, where I get excited about the possibility of meeting someone, only to be overwhelmed by the sheer presence of the people who do show interest. I mean, I know the point of dating apps is to meet people, but sometimes it feels more like meeting everyone except the person I want to meet.

Thread Count.
Katie brought me pillows, a mattress protector, a throw for the living room, a duvet, and an electric kettle. At the time, these things were a lifeline. I had poured every last resource into moving, left with nothing but rent, air, and prayer. When she arrived with her offerings, I opened the door to her, stripped bare of my usual defenses. Grateful. Exposed. She saw that.

Ghana Sugar Bread: A Deeply Scientific (and Slightly Unhinged) Obsession).
Listen. I have not baked Ghana sugar bread. But I have watched this one Instagram reel about 27 times, which makes me at least emotionally invested and spiritually adjacent to it. There’s this baker, right? And they’re just out here kneading dough like it’s a cooperative pet, shaping it so gently, like it might get offended if handled too roughly. And then, out of nowhere, POOF—sugar bread! All golden-brown and shiny like it’s just been buffed at a bread salon.

J Town Was A Church.
It started with a conversation—the kind that drifts in like harmattan dust and settles in places you didn’t know were exposed. Someone mentioned Jos—J Town—and suddenly I was seventeen again, standing at the gate of a church that no longer exists, wrapped in a sweater too thin for the morning cold.

When Generosity Comes With Strings Attached.
Introduction: Generosity is one of the most beautiful qualities in human connection. It is the gift of selflessness — a reflection of love, care, and a desire to make someone's life better. However, not all generosity is as innocent as it may first appear. Sometimes, gifts carry unseen strings, subtle exchanges of energy that can drain your resources, your time, or even your spirit.

Coconut.
Eli first saw her again at a house party in Heaton, five years after their last conversation. The room pulsed with bass and cigarette smoke. Laughter spilled out in pockets. And there she was—Amina Diallo. By the window. Wrapped in string lights and memory. She hadn’t changed much. Braids down her back. That sharp, unreadable gaze. A half-smile that seemed to slice right through him.

100 Reasons the Best Relationships Start With Wholeness, Not Urgency.
Right now, I’m in a quiet season. Not the kind you scroll past on social media. Not the kind that makes for flashy stories or exciting updates. Just… quiet. I don’t party. I don’t travel. I’m not chasing anything loud. I’m living simply, intentionally, with the kind of peace that doesn’t need to be explained.
