I Stand With Alberta Teachers
Introduction On October 6, 2025, approximately 51,000 Albertan teachers began a strike that would affect more than 730,000 students across the province. Organized by the Alberta Teacher's Association (ATA), the strike resulted from more than a year's worth of negotiations with the Government of Alberta. Priorities of the ATA include improved working conditions, wage increases, class size reductions, and an increase in public education funding. As of October 27, no agreement has been reached.

Gentle Parenting is Not Permissive
Gentle parenting is a parenting technique that focuses on empathy, respect, and positive relationships between parents and children. It falls under the firm but kind authoritarian parenting style: aiming to teach children skills like emotional regulation, communication, and confidence. Due to its opposition to harsh punishment and its emphasis on consent and autonomy, gentle parenting is often assumed to be permissive. Parents who practice this parenting style are often met with judgement. Even some who practice gentle parenting are unaware of what it truly entails, contributing to its misconceptions.

What Is Task Paralysis?
ADHD: What is it, and how does it manifest? Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder [ADHD] is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and emotional dysregulation. The disorder leads to a range of impairments stemming such as struggles with time management, cognitive inhibition, and task initiation. In addition, those with ADHD may find it difficult to connect with others and/or follow through with daily tasks and responsibilities. Although it's often diagnosed in childhood, many individuals learn of their ADHD in later adulthood, or even go their entire lives without a formal diagnosis. I was diagnosed in my mid-twenties, and still struggle to manage my ADHD symptoms on a daily basis.
