Protect The Dolls. Top Story - May 2025.
On April 16, 2025, the UK Supreme Court ruled that the "legal definition" of a woman is based on biological sex. Despite stating that transgender people are protected from discrimination under UK law, the Supreme Court continues to put forward laws that directly impact their safety. Equality Act 2010 " seeks to give statutory protection to people who are at risk of suffering from unlawful discrimination". It defines woman as:

Things I Don't Understand About Neurotypicals
01. Physical touch/physical communication I do not like being touched even by people I've known my whole life (so imagine how I feel about strangers)! Neurotypicals will communicate by touching each other's shoulders, or head, or hands, or whatever else, and somehow understand what it means. The thing I hate most is the obligatory social 'hugging to say goodbye' rule. As a child, I was encouraged to hug my relatives after leaving a visit with them, because it showed respect or love or something. I don't understand this, mostly because I think it's silly to love and respect someone just because you're related to them.

Each year, it seems, transgender hate crimes rise. Each year, hundreds of trans and non binary people are murdered around the world. Trans Day of Visibility is crucial in recognizing and challenging the unbridled transphobia that makes society run.

Gender Affirming Care Isn't Just For Trans People
What is gender affirming care? Upon hearing these words, most people think of the transgender community. It's a phrase most commonly used to refer to the hormones or surgeries taken by trans and non binary people. In the media, this is all it means. Gender affirming care is a range of social, psychological, and medical interventions designed to confirm and support a person's gender identity. In simpler terms, gender affirming care can be anything that makes a person feel more confident in their identity - whether they're trans or not.

Transitioning Saves Lives
February 27, 2025: Today, I have been on testosterone for three years. It's wild that time has passed so quickly. It doesn't feel like that ago that I was on the phone with a gender specialist, asking about being prescribed hormones. I look back on pre-transition photos of myself - I'm so young, so oblivious to what life had in store for me. The image of myself in old photographs is like some distant relative: a younger sister or a cousin I used to know. I still know her, of course, on a superficial level. I wish she had gotten the chance to know me, too.

Stop Killing Us.. Top Story - February 2025. Content Warning.
In 2024, approximately 350 trans and gender non-conforming people were murdered in hate attacks around the world. Nine out of ten of these attacks were on trans people of colour: specifically Black trans women. And each year, the figures increase. As of February 20, 2025, eight new anti-trans bills have been passed in seven states. It's aggravating, isn't it? In 2024, there were nearly five hundred mass shootings in the United States. People are dying because they cannot afford medications that will save their lives. Climate change is heating up the Arctic twice as fast as anywhere else on Earth. Yet, all anyone cares about is taking away the rights of trans people.

i haven't done much writing lately. at least, not as much as i'd like to. i wish to write about black history month, or executive dysfunction, or the struggles of being neurodivergent in a society that doesn't cater to me. i wish to write about so many things, and yet i cannot connect the thoughts in my head to the tips of my fingers.

Minding Mortals
When it rained, Uri hid himself among the Lost. He was formed of rain itself, yet this could not be presumed by his appearance. Even if humans were made privy to the existence of Immortals, they were a small-minded race, and many things were inscrutable. One ought not expect a human to comprehend the intricacies of things not of their kind, especially those that were greater and elder than themselves. Humans were an impetuous race, of course. Because Uri had existed for many centuries and travelled to many places, he spoke every tongue known to man. Cerulea was omnipresent; Vatia lived in a castle made of clouds, towering above the rest. At times, her booming voice erupted from the skies with a message for the Oris. The orders of a Queen must always be obeyed, lest a Child be banished.

When you hear the word cult, what do you think of first? For most, the word probably conjures up dark images of charismatic serial killers or clandestine rituals done in the dead of night. It's a misunderstood concept that mystifies and terrifies many, but why is this? People are fascinated by cults because of the psychological and sociological aspects that influence them. It's not an easy idea to define or understand, of course. Although some cults are easily understood as such, others are a little more subtle.

Understanding Burnout The concept of burnout was first described in the 1970s by a German-American psychologist, who described it as "a state of physical and mental exhaustion caused by professional life." In 2015, burnout became a clinical disorder listed in the DSM-10: characterized by an excessive workload, micromanagement, unfair treatment, and a lack of recognition or appreciation. Although burnout is most commonly used in the context of employment, it comes in many forms.
