The Battle of the Idego Fields
Lightning arced across the sky followed shortly by the booming sound of thunder as two armies stood at opposite ends of the Idego Field. Two armies, one of light and order, the other of darkness and chaos. ‘Warriors of Light and Order’ cried High Marshall Brevalier Le Goux atop his mighty steed, ‘let us bring hope and illumination to these benighted lands.’ The High Marshall’s words were met with cheer and rapturous applause.

Man the battle stations
If anyone has read my previous articles that focussed on Darth Vader vs Tigurius and Master Chief vs Titus; you'll know I have a knack for not letting things go when it comes to "X for Fictional Universe Y" could easily beat "Z from Warhammer." This would portray me as a toxic 40K Fanboy but beleive it or not I am not. In Darth Vader vs Tigurius I mentioned that I had been a fan of Star Wars longer than I had been a Warhammer fan. This article won't be any different as I put another beloved sci-fi franchise under the microscope to see how it shapes up against Warhammer. Today I intend to see if the USS Reliant from Star Trek can beat an Emperor Class battleship from Warhammer 40k.

Laundry Day
‘What’s with the outfit?’ A patron asks me. I am the costumed crime fighter known as Midnight Man and today just so happens to be laundry day. I am stood in my Laundry Costume in the 10th Street Laundromat. Why do I have a laundry costume? One thing the comic books never tell you is how a superhero launders their gear; how does Batman get blood and other substances off his Batsuit? How does Wolverine clean out the smell of toxic masculinity?

Your Wish Is My Command
‘I bloody hate life’ the Genie said to the barman, ‘it is always granting wishes to selfish people.’ The Genie downed his drink ‘I mean there was Paris who wanted to know how to kill Achilles, also Cleopatra who wanted eternally radiant skin’ the Genie began to ramble ‘Ali Baba wanted forty loyal thieves, and Scheherazade who wanted a way to outwit King Shahryar.’ The Genie downed another drink ‘Not to mention Julius Caesar, Genghis Khan, Attila the Hun, Getafix the Gaul, Queen Victoria, George Washington, Einstein, Hitler, Ronald Reagan, Tony Blair and Donald Trump’ he ranted.

The CD
I ran as fast as I could but I couldn’t escape the forces of the warlord Arreeo. I had no idea why they were chasing me other than I happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I mean it wasn’t like I hurt anyone or done anything to antagonise Arreeo, but here I was being chased across the wasteland, the sounds of their vehicles filling the air.

The Waterpark
‘Dad! Dad!’ Ben cried as he and Billy ran across the park, ‘can we go on the Crush ’n Gusher?’ Jim was hating life ‘On you go’ his wife Rosie chuckled, ‘you take the boys and I’ll hold down the fort with Stacy.’ Ben and Billy dragged Jim across Typhoon Lagoon to stand in line for an age just to spend thirty-seconds going breakneck speed down a plastic pipe into something that resembled water.

A Rendezvous with a Nightmare
The rain beat against the windscreen of the car, it was like the gods were firing at it with a machine gun, and everywhere I looked I got the feeling that I was the only one affected by the rain. I was on my way to the Takeshi’s Castle, a Korean Barbecue restaurant in an area of the city known as Little Italy.

Eldritch Horror
What is Eldritch Horror? To answer that we first need to travel back to February 1926, to when a young man by the name of Howard Phillips Lovecraft wrote the short story “The Call of Cthulhu” that would be published in Weird Tales in 1928. Little did Lovecraft know how influential his works would become after his death in 1937. Thanks to the machinations of August Darleth, the Cthulhu Mythos was born.
