Courtney. My Goth child. The moody one. The creative one. My child who has almost all forms of dyslexia.
She has painted since she was thirteen. Beautiful pieces depicting buck deer, fawns, chickens, and anime/cartoon characters. She’s given them out as Christmas gifts for several years.
She enjoys tie-dying. If she has a kit in the house, I can guarantee I won’t own anything white but bath towels when she’s done. She even sold a few of her designed T-shirts, and one of them won first place in a Halloween contest (the wearer went dressed as a Hippy).
I only paid for three of her piercings. The rest she has pierced…. HERSELF!! Damn YouTube and its tutorials. I cringe at the thought of pain!
She’s entered herself into a contest for Inked Magazine. She’s in the Top Five!! This is the final round, too!
I know I’m her mama, and I’m biased, but I think her work may speak to some of you.
