Targetting The Vocal Leaderboard
And Getting A Bonus Payment

Introduction
This is very frivolous and is not a definite way to appear on the Vocal Leaderboard. This is the last one that unusually, I appeared in.
I do have a couple of gripes:
- I see a lot of duplicated comments by certain authors who then appear os "most supportive" creators and get paid bonuses for that, I am not sure what Vocal can do about that.
- Also. I often get comments that are micro-stories in themselves and enhance stories. I do try to do that but I admit sometimes I just say "Excellent work" or leave an emoji like๐ to let the creator know that I have been there. I don't think repeated "comments" or coments of less than five words should count for either the commenter (as being supportive) or the creator's story (as being commented on), but that is just my opinion.
How To Get A Leaderboard Bonus
A Top Story or Challenge place can help but that is not anything you can do yourself. But...
The Leaderboard Week runs from Wednesday to Tuesday (I assume it's East Coast Time because that's where Vocal is based I believe, so any story posted on Wednesday has a week to gather comments and hearts, whereas if you post at the weekend the counts get split on Wednesday.
So this is being posted on Wednesday and is an experiment to see if this can generate enough hearts and comments to get me on to the Vocal Leaderboard on the 9th of April.
Of course, if we only published our stories on Wednesdays we would probably crash the Voca servers, so don't do that.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading and, obviously for my own nefarious pecuniary reasons I would love to get your hearts and comments.
We will see if I can get on next week's Vocal Leaderboard ๐๐ฑ๐
The song is "Money,Money,Money" by ABBA , one of many that I could have chosen.

Congratulations on the Leaderboard Honerable Mentions!!!๐โค๏ธโค๏ธ
Wooohooooo congratulations on your Leaderboard placement! ๐๐๐๐๐๐
The irony of this article showing up on the Leaderboard is prime ๐
This a great piece with some very insightful thoughts. I agree about some of the comments feeling self-serving more than supportive :( Iโm interested to see where this experiment lands!! Nice work, Mike!
I completely agree with you, Mike, regarding your comments about individuals who simply post comments to earn money. You can tell an honest comment from a 'numbers comment.' For example, a couple of stories I have submitted in the past few weeks have been met with the comment, 'Great story,' with a minute for it to be published. Now, there is no way that anyone could have read these in a minute. As a result, they get a point for commenting. I get zero credit for writing the story.
Terrific!!! Love the ABBA song too!โค๏ธโค๏ธ๐
Mike: They will have to get rid of Most Comments and Most Subscribed. Another option would be not to allow any who don't pay for membership on the leaderboards.
Insightful; Good luck on making the leaderboard!
I think the best thing about Vocal is the people who are on here. If I want to read a story/ poem, then I will, I don't feel obligated. I try to leave genuine comments but sometimes I am zonked out and will just leave a like. Good luck getting on the leaderboard! Hope you make it!
Here is a comment to help bump it up! lol. There is a problem with the "supportive" section, to be sure. Maybe they can change it to reading time instead of just commenting? Idk, that would probably be nigh impossible to calculate accurately.
Looks like it's going well so far!
I love ABBA Money Money Money song. I only been on the Leaderboard a few times. I cannot make it to supportive writer due to most people who win read more than an hundred stories a week.
I am in agreement with you and the others. I donโt have a solution of course, but wish they would get rid of that one. Time and lack of an appropriate comment that hasnโt already been said is my biggest downfall. So sometimes I just leave a heartfelt โค๏ธ
Honestly, I would like to see the most supportive commenter and subscribed to get tossed out and have the money go elsewhere, rewarding genuine efforts. Sometimes, I leave micro story comments, lol, but it's because I get all caught up in my feelings or have a particular point I want to share. Engagement is king when it's real, just my opinion. While I may not leave a gazillion comments at super sonic speed, my words are genuine. I will be curious to see how this story does on the leaderboard, Mike!
I get annoyed when I read and make a genuine comment and the writer goes on my story and leaves a like. Really, did u even read mine. Vocal probably reads numbers and not really see the fake comments. It's a process...can't be easy for the team to sort through. They need to re-assess the Leaderboard..
I think its utter tosh to be honest and refuse to read it or engage in it because of the AI fake commentors getting rewarded. Get rid of most supportive commentor all together and most subscribed because its fake AF. Also a very easy solution to stop liars from mining for the accolades. Vocal has no idea what goes on outside of the the little comment box on this site - like you running VSS social and always supporting peeps. How does some fake AI generated comments, copy pasted measure up to that? Plus, I have written things that have almost broken me to write and some muppet show writes something entirely unrelated to the story and clearly shows they haven't read a word- just another reminder of the crappiness of humanity. Sorry this topic makes me mad.
I am guilty of sometimes writing comments that could be mini-stories. And also sometimes, the mini-story evolves into nice mini-conversations around the actual story. I believe thatโs the main point of writing a comment. However, I have noticed that some people donโt read the actual story, yet, they think itโs a good idea to write a comment. And I always wonder whatโs the point. There are some generic comments that bother me such as โwell written.โ Those comments come from someone who didnโt bother to read anything. In other news, yesterday I got TS for my story on the origin of the word robot. :) It was a welcomed surprise and certainly I can do with some motivation. Good luck with the experiment.
Hahahahahahaha omgggg, imagine if all of us actually only ever published on Wednesdays ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ Most Subscribed Creators and Most Supportive Commenters should be removed from the Leaderboard. It's a very easy way for AI frauds to get money
Good luck with this, Mike! (Let's see, that's right now at 5 words, no..., 14, 15, 16..., guess I'd better skip one, lol. 24!
