Results: Re(lie)ability [an unofficial challenge]
The winners and entries for "Re(lie)ability [an unofficial challenge]" (January/February 2025)

THE RESULTS ARE IN!
This was such a fun challenge to host! Everyone came up with such unique and creative ideas (as per always). Y'all never fail to amaze me, so thank you all for entering!
The Prompt
In case you don't remember, the prompt was to:
Write a story from the perspective of an unreliable narrator.
You can find the original post here!
THE TOP THREE
In reverse order, as per always!
3RD PLACE: "Nectar of the Gods" by Whimsical Wanderer
Whimsical Wanderer casts a really fun tale, writing from the perspective of a bee! They created the tone perfectly. Having read it aloud, I felt myself take on the very doubts and confusion that the main character was expressing, and thought this perfectly captured the "unreliable" aspect, and the little bee references are so cute! A big congratulations to Whimsical on 3rd place!
2ND PLACE: "The Honey and the Avocado" by Diane Foster
This was BEAUTIFULLY written, Diane! With so much attention to detail, and so many questions left unanswered, this piece really ties together insanity and grief, and the possibility of maybe something more sinister... Excellent writing, Diane! Congratulations on 2nd place!
And for first....!
1ST PLACE: "Rekrah's Requiem" by Paul Stewart
Paul has crafted a really innovative and intriguing entry for this challenge that is set on a ship out at sea. It is so thought provoking, referencing other literature to support the growing instability of the character's reality... With so many metaphors, different uses of writing conventions, and the way the flow kept changing, it truly felt like embodiment of chaos, as if the reader themselves was being tossed back and forth in the waves. Truly a piece for the theatre, Paul. Bravo!
Congratulations on your 1st place win!
Note to Paul Stewart: For your prize, I will be reading, liking, and commenting on five of your works that I have not already read! I have already subscribed to you, but if I could subscribe twice, I would!! You have never disappointed!

Great job in organising. Congrats to the three winners!
Wooohooooo congratulations to all the winners! 🎊💖🎉🎊💖🎉
Great challenge, and worthy placements (I had a feeling Paul would hit the top spot). Thank you for the challenge, Belle. Well done to all! I'll keep an eye open for the next one.
Thank you so much!
Thank you for your kind words, I enjoyed creating the image as much as writing the story! And congrats to Paul, with his fascinating, mixed up Timelines/Books/Characters!
Congratulations to all the winners
Oh, wow! Thank you very much Belle, for first, running this challenge and for selecting my humble offerings as winner! Means a lot as I actually spent quite a bit of time trying to ensure it just felt disorientating ha. Congrats to Whimsical Wanderer and Diane for placing too and I shall make a point of reading the pieces I haven't! Thanks again, Belle! Definitely put a big smile of surprise on my weary and tired face on this Sunday!
