No Holding Back
Me And Vocal
Introduction
This song is the is the opener for the album "The Up Escalator" by Graham Parker and made me think that it is a perfect soundtrack for the way I am with Vocal.
Why?
Vocal is, in my opinion, the best writing platform for creators. It allows text but also allows us to include multimedia and links in our stories (like the opening song here, take a listen).
The editor is limited but I think that encourages inventiveness in creators, Vocal has an editor but IS NOT an editor, so I have found ways around it to do what I want.
For the first month on Vocal I have not had a single Top Story, even my August Challenge which closes at the weekend was ignored as well as many excellent poems. Is this because I criticised their latest development (which seems to have had minimal takeup) who knows? I also know there are nearly eight hundred thousand creators on Vocal so, yo know.
I have constantly promoted Vocal, praised them and brought new creators in, as well as helping out with the Vocal Social Society where we promote our members and bring in new members (we have 1,400 members now and if you want to join us here we are)
So here's the thing.
When Vocal does something good I will shout them out and praise them and share what they have done, if you want to find out more just check out their resources here:

When Vocal does something I see as not good I will call them out on it, one example is that the image for the three excellent links above is the same for each one. I am sure they could have something more representative for each section.
I know many creators don't like me daring to criticise Vocal but I prase and promote them a hell of a lot more than I criticise them, but unfortunately it's often my criticism that is picked up on as denigration when usually it is criticism combined with suggestions for improvement.
Conclusion
As I say it the title of this there will be no holding back from me in my praise of Vocal and, when required, my criticism.

When Vocal Get It Right
Introduction When I started on Vocal I used to use YouTube videos for the main image. Some friends advised against it but I do like to include music as Vocal does allow multimedia presentations. Also as a Vocal+ member, I have the benefit of QuickEdit and this allows changes to the main body of your Vocal Story but not the title, subheading or the main image.

Way to speak your mind, Mike.
Mike, I know of what you speak, been feeling the effects of criticism for a while now. Yin has yang...people do not like criticism, yet it is what makes them grow. Those who are obedient reap all the rewards. Rebels like us feel the pain.
