If you let me,

I can tell you how to love me,

but you need to come in close,

even closer.

That's better,

now I can see your eyes cradling the moon,

can you see my eyes?

And the stars in them?

We have to keep looking at each other with lips closed

to let the silence fill in the gap between us

and tell our stories.

So much of my life has been lived in silence

but you let it bloom and be born into something beautiful,

into hope.

See,

without words

without touch

we can already hear and feel each other.

I can feel your hand on mine even now as it lies on your lap,

don't move it just yet,

keep it there,

I want to imagine all the ways it will touch me before it touches me.

So much of my life has been lived in imagining,

and to have you here now...

has it created you or has your existence created the hope in imagining?

I can feel the way your finger tips will caress my cheeks and trickle down my neck,

over my breasts,

and reach for my back to enfold me in your arms.

Can you feel my hands

holding your face,

running through your hair and slipping down the back of your neck to ease your shoulders and pull you into me?

Let us breathe each other in.

And now, we have felt and heard all of what we are

in this quiet.

So take your hand and place it on mine,

let your fingers drop into the space between my fingers

and curl your hand into my hand,

bring your body closer,

lean into me

where our lips can reach each other in a single breath,

and let us close our eyes

and have the moon and the stars disappear.
