More Vocal Observations
A Mishmash Of Whatever

Introduction
These are just a few things that have come to my attention on Vocal over the last week. While I am not the most supportive, and I do point out flaws in the system, I still think Vocal is the best publishing platform for creative types as well as people like me, although Ai and plagiarism have become an absolute scourge, but Creators are taking the initiative to report offenders.
That seems an excuse to include "Young Offenders' Mum" by Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, and if you want to hear more from them, check this out:
My Vocal Observations
I was expecting to publish my three thousandth story this month, but I had three stories that were essentially directories of my stories that have been made obsolete by the Community Story filters on our home page, so I deleted them, which meant my story count was reduced by three. However, when I check my stats, there is a gap there that says "not published". I would rather it were gone, but I suppose this is just another flaw with Vocal stats, c'est la vie.

I will probably publish the three thousandth story next week, but we shall see.
On the plagiarism, AI front, I would love Vocal to put limits on posting, even for V+ plus members, may one an hour for V+ members and one every two days for non-V+ members. I am sure that would have a beneficial effect in deterring spammers and AI trolls. I think a similar limit should be put in place for commenting, too, as I am sure some just copy and paste to try for the "most supportive" on the Vocal Leaderboard. I am far too lazy to do something like that, but have seen others do it and be rewarded on the Leaderboard, but I am sure not this week, that you can check here, but you can see for some that $20 would be a temptation:
Conclusion
We need to be on our guard against the ones who seem to be trying to ruin Vocal. In our Vocal groups, we are constantly on guard and taking action against these people, and hopefully, Vocal will become more aggressive in dealing with these awful people.
We must keep producing excellent creations for others to read, and hope we can drive those trolls elsewhere.
Thank you so much for reading and keep on being your excellent selves.

Wooohooooo congratulations on your Leaderboard placement! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊
Congrats on your Leaderboard honorable mention! ⚡💙⚡
I feel non V+ should only be able to publish only 1 piece a week. Looking forward to your 3000th piece hehee
Hit the nail on the head, Mike. I totally agree with your comments., A limit on the number of stories published would be to everyone's benefit. There would be a greater chance that someone would read your story. The platform is getting saturated. Same for the comments. You can make more out of dropping some frivolous comments on stories like a Gatling gun, than you can actually write them. How can someone say "great story" when it is a 4- 5 minute read, and the post a comment 1 minute after it is published?
They need to keep them listed as "unpublished" I believe because they want to retain the stats for you.
Thanks for inspiring me to keep going. I have really been thinking of giving up on Vocal lately. I will keep writing
As the song goes come together now, Agree with you.
I like the limit on posting and comments idea. I am fatigued from travel; and all the AI and craziness makes me want to watch movies and not interact. I don’t want to compete with the AI posters who are overwhelming us.
I am happy that people are working together on this, Mike. For too long I felt like I was being 'the big meanie' and it was exhausting.
Once again your keen eye and vigilance is appreciated. Not sure about submissions once an hour that seems a lot, maybe a cap for the day so as not to clog the system.
Your observations are always valuable!
Great ideas, Mike. I had not seen an example of that. ⚡💙⚡
Mike, all great ideas and I am sticking around Vocal for I like reading all the stories and articles and yes even commenting on what each of them make me think about.
There are a lot of rats on this ship, but I'm staying on board. I'm almost at 700 pieces and I see no reason to stop. And Carter USM? I haven't heard them in an age...
Good points!
Another thoughtful analysis! Well done Mike!
It's funny you bring up the comments—I've noticed I can usually tell who actually reads what I post just by what they write. Someone once commented "Good luck," and I thought, why are they wishing me luck? You're right, most people just copy and paste generic responses. I only leave a comment if I've taken the time to read the person's story or poem. I even got a comment once that had nothing to do with what I wrote—it didn’t fit at all. I also think that would be great for Vocal—to have something that distinguishes V+ members from non-members when it comes to the amount they can post.
I loved your paragraph on the AI front because I think that is really the only way this could be fixed. Also, I don't know why Vocal doesn't let us see our likes unless we go through our notifications. Facebook does it and so does everywhere else. I think Vocal needs to up its game if it wants to fight this fight. They're almost making it too easy for scammers and people stealing content. They need to have something in place for that as well, if your content is too similar (word by word) to something else that has been published by someone else, you shouldn't be able to publish it.
