Farming in Australia
A few years ago now, I decided that I was tired of waiting. I wanted to go to Australia, a place I had been dreaming of since I was a kid and used to watch Steve Irwin's Crocodile Hunter show religiously. I constantly used to fantasize about sneaking aboard a boat and making my way through the Outback to find him amongst the animals, where I would ask him to make me his apprentice and teach me everything he knew about the natural world.

A Constant Reader's Dream
Imagine reading a book and thinking, "Wow, I'd love to visit this place!" Regardless of its nature, that's how I feel about Bangor, Maine! Opening the pages of a Stephen King book and wanting to truly experience the locations that inspired so many of this iconic writer's books and plotlines have always been in my nature.

The Motherland Train
The landscape whizzes by the window as the sun sets beyond the pale blue, dusky mountains in the distance. The smell of strong tea wafts from a samovar on a cart down the corridor and is accompanied by the squeak of wheels and clink of silverware and china.

What If I Travelled Alone?
Many a time I've sat and wondered about what my life would be like if I was single. Not in the sense of wanting to be, but how things would be different had I not worked on and embraced the relationship I've spent the past 3 amazing years in.

5 European Cities To Visit During The Winter
Almost every European city will be full of visitors during the summer months. But those crowds are avoidable if you're ready to tolerate colder temperatures. Not only are you going to run into fewer travelers during this period, but you're also likely to score travel deals, particularly on cruises.

The Euro-trip of a Lifetime for my Little Sister. Third Place in Solo Trip Challenge. Top Story - December 2020.
To my Little Sister, As you may remember, during the summer after my first year at university I decided to do something grand. Something that many in the past saw as common practice, maybe even a priority during their academic years, that for some reason young people shy away from in the 21st century. I decided to plan the most intense Euro trip possible.

Oh, The Places I'd Go...
Years ago, when I was preparing to celebrate my 25th birthday, my best friend and I began planning a trip to a place I had always wanted to visit: Greece. I was fascinated with mythology from a young age; Clash of the Titans and snippets of other Greco-Roman stories fueled an interest that became a lifelong journey of studying Celtic, Norse, Germanic, Indigenous, Aboriginal, and Middle Eastern/Mediterranean (as well as many other) belief systems and the mythological foundational tales that helped to shape them. While I have no ethnic roots in Greece or Italy (at least none deep enough to have reached my awareness) I have a deep emotional connection to those stories that sparked my desire for knowledge. I wanted to see the places I had read about, even to stand where those places existed and feel the power of that space knowing the impact it had on humanity: the Parthenon, The Oracle at Delphi, the Theater of Dionysus, the Temple of Artemis. To touch the waters of the Aegean Sea, the leaves of sacred olive and oak trees, the rubble of what was once the greatness of Sparta, to walk where the battle of Thermopylae took place. Greece was the first place I had ever dreamt of visiting, exploring, experiencing. I was so excited to be planning to fulfill a dream.

My First Solo Trip. First Place in Solo Trip Challenge.
Early December 2019, my parents are getting ready to leave on a dirt biking trip with some friends in Southern California. My family had been planning this trip for months. But I wasn't invited. Not because they didn't want me there... I think... Rather, this was the first year I was without a dirt bike, as I had just recently sold it in exchange for a larger street-legal motorcycle. In addition to that, I no longer lived at home, so I wasn't always automatically included in trips with the family. Due to these factors, I was understandably told to sit this one out. Which was a tad disappointing for me...

Trip of a lifetime
I am looking forward to someday making a solo trip back to England and then traveling to Scotland and the Orkney Islands. It almost calls to me, begging for me to return and see all the places I could not see when I was sixteen. I would have to spend around two months to see everything I want to see. Picking out where I would start is difficult, but I think the Orkney Islands would be the best place. Starting at the furthest point north and working my way down.

Sometimes you're forced to travel alone
During my late 20's there was a time when I started to make some money but my friends weren't. Some were busy doing other things. In these fork in the roads you have to choose to do things yourself. If you don't then you're going to miss out on opportunities. So there were a few instances when I went out and travelled alone.
