But this former Spanish colony, which became the 27th state to enter the Union, is much more than that. Its moderate climate makes it a popular tourist destination all year round. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Florida.

Home
I grew up in a small city. My neighbors knew who I was and would say there is Ms. So or So's grandson. If you came home from school and your neighbors were at home but your parents weren't the neighbors were in charge and had permission to discipline you. If you were disciplined by your neighbors, you would also be disciplined by your parents. Roanoke was the first city in the world to have an all volunteer Life Saving Crew. Which is a really distinguished honor to have bestowed upon us.

A few years ago my partner and I took our very first international trip together. It was a few days and we had researched it high and low to find ourselves the biggest bang for our limited bucks. We had such a wonderful time with our group that now finally this year after an entire long year of quarantine five of us are finally in a position to enjoy some time in paradise. My partner and I have taken many trips, but far the most interesting ones we take are the trips we are overall prepared for. There is a period of research for deals and discounts. He and I search for as many options as we possibly can within our budget and then decide based on how far out to a location we would like to travel. A heavy influence on culinary delights is highly favored. My partner and I lead both a ketogenic (me) and low carb (him) lifestyle, therefore when we are on vacation or out of town food is absolutely something we will be experimenting with.

My Dream Destination: The Republic of Udmurtia, Russia
My long term goal is to travel to as many of the Soviet republics as possible. The republic of Udmurtia in central Russia is one of the republics I have the desire to visit in the near future. At the beginning of my young adulthood, I began to explore and research various Soviet republics besides Yakutia, Chechnya and Dagestan. After randomly finding pictures of the Udmurt people on Google, I started virtually travelling to Udmurtia by viewing photographs and watching Udmurt language tutorials on YouTube. Although English travel YouTuber and Soviet culture and history enthusiast Bald and Bankrupt has been a huge inspiration to further pursuing my love for Soviet culture, I've been dreaming to travel to the diverse Soviet republics and exploring the diverse and unique cultures of Russia way before discovering Bald and Bankrupt.

Dark Sky
What I miss the most about Flagstaff is the night sky. From the side street next to my house I could look up at the end of any day and see the bright splatter of stars so close, I felt the light in my fingertips. I would come home at the end of the day, walking in the dark the one mile from my office on campus, and stare up for one lingering moment before I punched in the code for the garage door and waited for it to open. I would stare into the night, feet tired and brain weary, and catch the firmly edge of the Milky Way loping above Mackenzie Drive. I traced my eyes in a weighty ellipse around the edges of the galaxy, and I could almost feel its rotation.

Waste Management Redefined
The days were most cloudy at that time of year and when a nice day occurred, it tended to brighten my mood. That’s what happened one day back in February when the weather was beautiful. That day the sun was shining, the temperatures were well above freezing, the snow was melting (although not quickly enough for me) and I decided it was too nice outside to waste the day hibernating inside my house. I decided to take a long drive and went to one of my favorite places: Captree State Park.

Name Origins of Bronx Landmarks and Neighborhoods
Photo by Metropolitan Transportation Authority of the State of New York Arthur Avenue The origin of Arthur Avenue begins with the arrival of Pierre Abraham Lorillard to the area. P. Lorillard & Co initially operated in lower Manhattan in 1760 and manufactured a tobacco snuff product. Soon after, the family bought a large tract of land along the Bronx River and named their estate Belle Monte. In 1870, the property passed to Catherine Lorillard Wolfe, and she divided the holding into a number of streets and avenues. The main thoroughfare was designated Arthur Avenue because the great granddaughter was a big admirer of President Chester A. Arthur.
