Let's Get Our Booooo On!
It's that time of the year again and folks are gearing up for a ghoulish time with their favorite ghosts, goblins, and witches at the only place to be on All Hallow's Eve, the Halloween Office Party. Since it's the party of the season, selecting the right music is too important to rely on what you might find on the local radio station or what they sell down at the costume shop. You are in charge of the music so it's important to bring your 'A' game and what better way to open a party than with a Halloween favorite from Hocus Pocus. The song, I Put A Spell On You performed by Bette Midler is enough to get anyone in the dancing move and if you're not careful, you might just not stop...dancing that is.

I could really get used to this new way of travel. No traffic. No traffic lights. I think the entire trip took less than 10 minutes and I didn't get car sick or whatever you call it nowadays. The only weird thing was I scared the bee-jeevies out of my neighbor. No one else can see me when I'm inside an imaginary vehicle, so when I stepped out of nowhere, old Mrs. Whitaker nearly fainted.

He used to do that all the time. I had forgotten. Now there was a vague familiarity to it. He opened my eyes to a world of things I had no idea existed. That's not entirely true. He jarred my memory to the things I remembered seeing as a child. My mom always said I had a vivid imagination, but in reality, I was describing what I was seeing thanks to Spongy sharing with me. I sat down and rested my head in my hands. I could feel the worst headache coming on.

"Sammy... where are you. Sammy?" Dean Winchester shouted at the top of his lungs as he finished chopping the head off the last vampire in the barn nest. "Dammit, Sammy...I know you're here man, but you've got to help me out bro." Dean shouted again. There was a fluttering sound and Dean spun around, ready to fend off any other creature of the night in his search for his younger brother Sam Winchester, but it wasn't an evil creature. It was Castiel, one of many angels that had been appearing as of late. "Sammy's not here, Dean." said Castiel in a low, calm voice, "He's gone." "What do you mean he's gone? I saw these vamps drag him in here." Dean said angrily as he started kicking open doors inside the barn. Castiel replied, "I'm afraid Lucifer has Sammy, Dean. They're gone."

What Are Quarantine Pods and Do You Need One?
September is here and for many families in Texas, that means kids are returning to school, and with that comes a sense of worry and concern about the spread of disease and germs, especially the spread of Covid-19. Kids are notoriously social creatures and while at school, they will meet old friends and make new friends. Once they leave school and come home, for the younger children, it may be difficult to make them understand why they can’t have friends over to play or why they can’t spend the night over at a friend’s house. One solution that emerged back at the beginning of the pandemic and is gaining ground again as our nation faces potential lockdowns and more isolation, is the concept of Quarantine Pods.

A Day in the Life of Joey
Why am I so giddy? This is just another writing prompt, right? I mean why on earth would an old man in Northeast Texas be so excited to tell anyone "I love my job because..." I'm not an important celebrity nor am I a politician. However, I am a Gemini and in my lifetime, that's meant a lot to me. There's an old wisdom that people born under the sign of Gemini tend to be creative types. They also tend to never finish projects they start and they are always experimenting with what they want to be when they finally grow up. The problem is most Geminis never grow up.

I was almost 8 years old, but I was old enough to know that when my Mom used my full name, I was already in trouble, it was just the degree of trouble at this point. And the wind howled...
Somewhere off the coast of North Africa, the wind picked up and blew harder and longer than usual. The temperatures are warmer than normal, and the ocean is hotter than it’s been all year. Waves steadily grew larger beneath the wind as they began their westward trek towards the continent of North America, swirling in a giant circle and gaining steam as it went. The further westward the storm went, the stronger it became, and soon it would crossover from a tropical depression to a tropical storm to a hurricane.

Thirteen Moms will get a visit today
Today, Moms across America are going about their Friday morning routines oblivious that soon, thirteen of them will receive a knock at their door. Some are at their place of employment. Others may be at their children's school, or grocery shopping, or at their home. At some point this morning, thirteen Moms' lives will be forever changed. There are also thirteen two-man teams of Marines preparing to meet these Moms. They are putting on their dress blue uniforms and making sure that everything is immaculate. Their ribbons and medals are in line, their shoes polished to a brilliant shine, and their gig lines straight and sharp. These Marines are also practicing what they will tell these Moms.

The night I went down to Dixie
Ok, before you start laughing your arses off and drift off to another article, please allow me to explain. It was December of 1985 and Ford had just announced the release of a new vehicle that would replace the Ford LTD. They called it the Taurus and although it carried a 1985 manufacturing date the model year would be 1986. It was roomy and it had the engine of a full-sized car. It also had two secret advantages that made it ideal for my intended purpose: it had a large trunk and front-wheel drive. Oh, and there was one other thing. The mint green color made it blend into other traffic like it was invisible.
