The Great Distraction
I will never forget that day, when our most favorite outlet, our multi hour getaway from life, our greatest distraction, OUR sports, had been stopped abruptly due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. It was March 12th 2020 When the National Basketball Association (NBA) Major League Baseball (MLB) National Hockey League (NHL) Major League Soccer (MLS) had stop play indefinitely. There was so much uncertainty in the air...not just with sports but life in general, we didn't know how serious this virus was, many of us were panicked for our lives and the lives of our loved ones. Whenever we faced a serious crisis in the World whether it was war, sickness, and even 9/11 we always had that outlet, that stress reliever, our Sports. Sports bring Happiness, joy, togetherness in this world filled with political divisions, racial tensions, and religious wars now more than ever before. But in a time of pain with us being so divided, let us distract ourselves from the pain of Covid-19, whether you've lost a loved one, or you have or are currently in Quarantine as I am as you read these words, Root for a Slam dunk, A Homerun, a Touchdown pass, a goal, etc. Focus on Anything that gives you joy, because the good times reminds us how things were, and hopefully how they can be again, where we can attend that game without a mask, we can cheer to the top of our lungs being shoulder to shoulder without wondering: "Am I 6 feet apart?" We can get back to stop watching politics as much, worrying about impeachment laws, and just say the heck with that! I miss the adrenaline of a Basketball game, Baseball, Hockey and Football game where the home team takes the court, Ice or Field and the Crowd cheers that you can actually see, and not fake crowd noise! The memories, where a homerun is hit and a little kid catches his first baseball, when the crowd rises all at once when a hockey goal is scored, or a football player celebrates a TD with a leap into the stands and even a fan gets to high five his favorite NBA player before the game and maybe even get a signed copy of his shoes. THIS is the Love of Sports! My fellow sports fans, this gives me hope...hope that America could do more unifying in a time of great pain, it's time to come together as a country, stop the fighting about this or that, and Enjoy our favorite pastime..our Sports..the Great Distraction from our troubled world.

My Review of "Tiger"
Tiger is a 2 part TV special that came out recently. It's an HBO sports special when there's not a lot of sports being played on TV. That's why I think this was probably the perfect time for this show to be aired. We all know who Tiger Woods is and we've all probably remember a lot of the crazy stories about his life. This series goes a little deeper and connects all the dots.
