Everything negative is on the rise in Ghana, kidnapping, violent roberries, romance scams fraud and even HIV rates. As HIV rates are standing at 34,000 according to a GHANET.
In the last 9 months cases in Ghana have been more than all of 2023.
Not only this, 4 Ghanaians were arrested for defrauding their school in Pennsylvania out of over $500,000 USD.
Fraud and scamming in Ghana are so horrible that Ghanaians have even created several fake U.S. Embassy pages not only online but even created entire websites to defruad their own citizens.
Meanwhile in the UK 4 more Ghanaians were arrested for drug trafficking. This news comes as a wave of crimes by Ghanaians are taking place around the world. This author finds this very interesting, after living in Ghana and hearing many Ghanaians tearing down other Black Africans.
In Ghana their talk is very negative and harsh about Nigerians, yet their behavior in and outside of Ghana seems to be making more international news than any of Nigerians.
A Ghanaian was recently defrauded by a man who worked for a clearing agency in which Ghanaian students pay their fees to Canadian universities through these agents. These agents are much like the rental agents one would use to rent an apartment in Ghana.
These rental agents take sometimes up to 15% of the rent one pays to the property owner, however sadly in Ghana they collect rent for 1 to 3 years. This makes the fees to the agents very costly.
This Ghanaian however didn't mention the portion of his fees paid to the Canadian university are taken by this agency. He did make a sizeable amount to attend the university in Canada through the agent.
The agent a Ghanaian in Ghana who he paid face to face stole all of his money.
In an article posted by the U.S. Embassy in Ghana -
For the second year in a row, Ghana ranks in the top 25 countries globally for sending students to the United States. According to the 2024 Open Doors Report, Ghana now ranks 18th with a total of 9,394 Ghanaians who studied in the United States in 2023-2024 – an increase of 45.2 percent and an all-time record high. The Open Doors Report is published annually by the Institute of International Education (IIE), analyzing the number of international students in the United States.
Ghanaians in graduate degree programs totaled 6,337, representing a 54 percent increase and making Ghana the 9th largest sender globally of graduate students to the United States. Ghanaian students earned nearly $9.2 million in scholarships to more than 680 higher educational institutions in all 50 U.S. states.
This information comes on the heals of several Ghanaians who have been traveling to Burkina Faso using their embassy in order to obtain entrance to the United States. This was posted in a group for Ghanaians shared to this author by a Ghanaian seeking to escape Ghana.
Instead of seeing if any of these people are able to attend universities or collages in the country to better themselves and obtain employment, the U.S. is now allowing more into the country?
This is one of the things that made many people vote for Donald Trump. as he filled social media with the idea that the country was being filled with migrants.
This also comes as Ghanaians are becoming increasingly annoyed with the African Americans and others moving to Ghana. Many African Americans are claiming that some are jealous of them others are saying that they've been unwelcoming. Even this author has written a book about how unwelcoming Ghanaians were.
However Lacey's House nonprofit has been trying to locate grant money and other funding for Burkina Faso. While the U.S. Embassy in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso seems to be stonewalling the only 2 grants that they had posted for the country.
One of them which has since passed was denied to Lacey's House, however the U.S. Embassy has not released the information on which organization actually was awarded the funding opportunity.
