The Echo Chamber Effect: How Algorithms Are Rewriting Human Thought
In an age where swiping has become second nature and personalized feeds dictate much of our worldview, one question continues to haunt researchers, ethicists, and digital citizens alike: Are we really thinking for ourselves — or are algorithms doing it for us?

Trump Endorses Candidate with Open Anti-Muslim Views
Trump Endorses Candidate with Open Anti-Muslim Views America has long been described as a melting pot — a place where people from diverse backgrounds, faiths, and beliefs come together to build a shared future. It is expected that those elected to serve in public office represent all citizens fairly and without prejudice. Unfortunately, recent political trends have moved in the opposite direction, with certain figures pushing divisive rhetoric into the mainstream.

Why Is Maryland Powering Virginia’s Data Centers Instead of Building a Smarter Grid?
The story is as maddening as it is predictable: Marylanders could end up paying $800 million to power Virginia's data center boom—a surge of AI-driven server farms whose insatiable appetite for electricity is pushing our grid to its limits. Meanwhile, cutting-edge solutions like sodium-ion batteries and micro nuclear reactors, widely adopted in Europe and Asia, remain frustratingly sidelined here in the United States.

Maryland’s Family Courts Are Failing Families
In theory, Maryland’s family courts are supposed to be the guardians of justice for families in crisis—handling divorce, custody, support, and domestic violence with impartiality and compassion. But in reality, they’ve become a bureaucratic maze riddled with inefficiencies, financial hurdles, and questionable practices that harm the very families they claim to protect. And despite the glossy brochures and polished websites, Maryland’s Judiciary continues to ignore the warning signs.

Trump’s ‘Anarchist Jurisdiction’ Talk Was Mostly Nonsense — But Could Such a Thing Exist?
On January 5, 2021, I wrote on my blog about a peculiar phrase that emerged during the Trump administration: "anarchist jurisdictions." It was used by the Department of Homeland Security to describe cities like Portland, Seattle, and New York — places that had seen protests in response to police brutality or simply didn’t align with Trump’s political narrative. The term, however, made little sense. Anarchism isn’t jurisdictional. It isn’t something defined or confined by government-sanctioned borders, laws, or frameworks. If anything, the concept of an "anarchist jurisdiction" is oxymoronic.

Lenin vs Stalin: Their Showdown Over the Birth of the USSR
The question of where Russia begins and ends—and who constitutes the Russian people—has preoccupied Russian thinkers for centuries. The collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 and the Russian aggression against Ukraine in 2014 turned these concerns into a big “Russian question” that constitutes a world problem: What should be the relation of the new Russian state to its former imperial possessions—now independent post-Soviet republics such as Georgia, Armenia and Ukraine—and to the Russian and Russian-speaking enclaves in those republics? How should mental maps of Russian ethnicity, culture and identity be reconciled with the political map of the Russian federation?

I never thought I’d make real money online — until I did. Let me be clear: I’m not a digital nomad. I didn’t go viral on YouTube. I wasn’t “lucky.” A year ago, I was broke, confused, and running out of options.

Modern Day Inhumane Camp
The suffocating, putrid smell of urine and human waste and sweat attack my nostrils, jolts me awake on the floor. The overhead lights sear my retina. How long was I out? I glance at my wrist. No watch. No concept of time. Hell, a small ventilation window mocks me eight feet overhead. Hard to determine the time of day. My stomach groans with emptiness. I know. Why am I here? A man with black curly hair sobs, repeating over and over words I cannot comprehend. He probably misses his family, like I do. Others also sob silently. No privacy. No beds. No means of obtaining proper rest. The lack of food and sleep for three days takes their toll and my body struggles to move. Burning hunger curls inside me like smoke. When are we getting any food? I try to recall my last meal, however my weakened state and the extreme heated conditions of the area create a harsh obstacle for thinking. Mind-numbing silence doesn’t help either. No one dares to speak. Either we lack the energy to talk, or fear stole our voices.
