Right Wing MPs At Odds With Government.
Immigrants, Migrants, Those For and Those Against.

Migration and immigration have always been a controversial subject in the UK. Probably every nationality, race, religion, etc, that has ever been and is, exists in the UK.
The UK before Roman times, when Britain wasn't known as Britain, was a beacon for immigrants (such as the Beaker people). There were also Celts, Saxons, Vikings, Normans (who were descendants of Vikings), Jews, Huguenots, etc. We had waves of immigration from the Caribbean and the Indian subcontinent. Not forgetting waves of European immigration most recently, Poles, Romanians, etc.
Now we have Syrians, Hong Kongers, and Ukrainians. We are also faced with people crossing the Channel from France who are not necessarily French.
Labour and Conservatives have tried various ways to tackle immigration/migration. Hoping it will be a vote winner and perhaps a genuine attempt to stem the tide of people coming here.
Harold Wilson tried to stop Ugandan Asians from getting British passports. Enoch Powell made his famous/infamous "Rivers of Blood" speech. New Labour targeted asylum seekers. Theresa May's promise to bring down immigration by tens of thousands. A well-intended measure or a cynical masquerade to get folk on board to tackle migration/immigration.
Priti Patel wanted to send immigrants/migrants to two islands in the Atlantic. Now there is the Rwanda plan championed by Patel. Now being carried on by Suella Braverman. Sunak has said he wants to "stop the boats" (referring to the migrants crossing the channel).
Brexit happened because many people wanted to stop people from the EU from coming here. But in actual fact, more people were coming here from Commonwealth nations. It seems as though, many thought that in voting for Brexit, the tap of immigration would be turned off. Well, how naive and mistaken were they? After Brexit, the government made it so that immigrants still came here (whether European or from elsewhere).
Before Brexit, EU nationals had freedom of movement and priority of entry into the UK. Now it is a level playing field and immigrants, no matter where they come from, are all under the same rules.
Immigration has rocketed and increased the British population. We have Hong Kongers, Afghans, Syrians, and Ukrainians coming here. Perhaps legitimately so fleeing war and persecution. Besides that illegal migrants/immigrants are trying to come here. It has also been revealed that more fake UK passports are being issued to help these illegals come here.
The one reason why the UK has imported people to do jobs is that Native Brits do not want to do employment many migrants do. We complain but we are our worst enemy. We complain that they are coming here to steal our jobs but half of the time, very few Brits, want to do jobs migrants do.
Look at the NHS, many positions in that organisation, are filled with foreigners. It seems the government cannot be bothered in training Native Britons to fill posts such as doctors and nurses. Instead, it goes abroad actively recruiting medical staff from Africa or the Philippines.
There is a movement in both the Conservatives and Labour in wanting to train more Native Brits. How realistic is this though? It can take years to train Native Brits. This is why the NHS prefers to recruit from abroad. Rather than hang around waiting for Native medics to work for them.
Many companies outside of the NHS prefer to recruit from abroad also. It is understandable why the NHS and others do this. However, Native Brits should also be given the chance to train and work in their chosen field. Utilizing their skills and bringing their experience to bear in the work environment.
A far-right group of Conservatives on the back benches are challenging current immigration policies. These MPs are led by Lee Anderson. Their modus operandi is that Sunak's immigration policy is too soft. These MPs want to have this plan (of being tougher on immigrants especially illegal ones) in place before the next general election (May 2024).
Whether Sunak will adopt such a policy remains to be seen. One thing is clear though immigrants and migrants will always want to come here whether legit or not. And there will be those that don't want them here and will try any means, to stop them.
