Qassem: Vows Defiance.
Hezbollah Deputy Leader Says The Organisation is Ready for Israeli Incursion.
No doubt about it, Hezbollah has taken a pasting from Israel. The death of their Secretary General Hasan Nasrallah, the deaths of senior commanders, Hezbollah infrastructure and fighters taken out, and exploding communication devices, to mention but a few of their calamities. Lebanese civilians have died both in Beirut and in other parts of the country. Lebanese by the thousands have fled southern Lebanon under the Israeli bombardment.
The conflict between Hezbollah and Israel started on the day after October 7. When Hamas killed and kidnapped hundreds of Israelis. As soon as the Israel Defence Forces attacked and entered Gaza, Hezbollah attacked northern Israel. Killing civilians, and armed forces, hitting IDF bases, and forcing 60,000 Israelis to move south. Israel and Hezbollah have exchanged fire but keeping the intensity of the bombardment light (if you can call it that!).
Netanyahu unable to defeat Hamas and having killed and maimed thousands and reduced Gaza to rubble, has turned his attention to Lebanon. Netanyahu says he wants to repopulate northern Israel with its former citizens who fled Hezbollah's attacks. With that, he has upped the attacks on Lebanon in the ways described earlier.
There was supposed to be yet another peace deal. Not with Hamas and Israel this time, but with Hezbollah and Israel. However, Netanyahu as he has done, has ignored these alleged peace plans and carried on regardless. Pounding Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis. Netanyahu is a war criminal internationally and a criminal at home for corruption. Jewish fascists and religious fanatics dominate his cabinet and egg him on. The US, UK, and others back the Jewish entity to its hilt. Supplying the weapons to destroy its enemies and at the same time, kill thousands of civilians whether it's intentional or not.
Hezbollah and its Shia population are in shock and disbelief that the man who led them for decades is dead. Hasan Nasrallah in a meeting with his senior commanders was killed at Hezbollah headquarters by Israeli bunker-buster bombs. Netanyahu has said he will not let up in the attacks on Lebanon.
As Netanyahu flew home from his speech at the General Assembly of the UN, Hezbollah rockets rained down on the airport, he was to touch down on. His house has allegedly taken a hit from a missile. Other groups fired missiles at Israel in anger from Iraq, Syria and Yemen. Now it appears the IDF is about to launch a full-scale invasion of Lebanon. While Hezbollah is licking its wounds and on the back foot, in line with restoring the Israeli population to the north, Israel wants to either finish off what remains of Hezbollah or push it north of the Litani River. Israel, however, should think very carefully though about taking Hezbollah on its own ground. Twice before in 1982 and 2006, the IDF was driven from Lebanon by Hezbollah. So if the IDF go in, what will be different this time? If Israel despite smashing Gaza to pieces cannot defeat Hamas totally, how can it beat Hezbollah, a more powerful and better-armed organisation in a larger country Lebanon?
Qasem the Deputy General Secretary of Hezbollah made a speech via video. One to reassure the Shia population of Lebanon and other Lebanese that Nasrallah did not die in vain. Qasem said, Hezbollah despite massive setbacks at the hands of the IDF, remains a powerful force. It will continue the attacks and struggle against Israel. Qasem mentioned the role of the US in backing Israel and condemned it as he would.
Qasem said, that if Israel was ready to invade Lebanon his forces were ready. He touched on the Hezbollah-Israeli war in 2006. Mentioning how Hezbollah beat Israel then and it can do it again.
