Bryan Watch: Feb III
The House is back after a break for President's Day week. A very slow week, with only eight votes cast, four of them party line. Two months into 2020, and Rep. Steil has yet to cast a single vote against the interests of the Republican Party and its corporate backers.

England Has Fallen
True to form I find myself thinking about the state of the country through a rather melodramatic lense (hence the movie inspired title). In my mind I see a country ripped apart by politice and social confusion over what is best for the country; the old fear the young for the violence they create, while the young hate the old for draining the countries economic resources and helping to destroy the environment. The rich get richer by ensuring politicians remain in power and protect their assets, while the poor are left to rot in the streets, while the rest are told to solve the problem themselves. Then there is the never ending dispute over how people should live their lives: "be proud of who you are", but "don't be too gay, straight, white, black, old, young, sexually ambiguous, prudish..." and the list goes on. Although thats a very bleak and narrow view of the overal state of the country, it isn't incorrect.

Should Men Lose The Right To Vote?
I think it is vitally urgent to the survival of mankind for us to realize one important truth: all men are capable of evil. That isn't to say that every man is evil, but in the right circumstances, we will do what we have to to stay alive. We are capable of evil now, we were most certainly capable of evil in the past, and we will be capable of evil in the future. Men, sometimes we rape, pillage, go to war, murder, thieve and plot against those we wish to topple. We are the hunters, and we find prey, even when there is none to be found. Us men will create prey from our own brethren, and we will then hunt, kill and cuckold, just out of boredom sometimes. That's just what men do, have done, and always will do.

It's Time We Grow Up & Stand Up
The planet is dying. There are just no if's, and's or but's about it. I could go on and on about drought, wildfire, polar melting, but you already know all that. The next person you see, they know too. Same with the person after that and the person after that. Your lover knows. Your boss knows. Your best friend knows, and so does his Mom. Heck, your dog probably knows. Even those who deny how close we are to unstoppable oblivion realize there is harm in our current global expansionist lifestyle; those who mock Greta often mock the air quality in China as well.

What Happens When Your President is the Most Dangerous Idiot in the World
I don't think any thinking person would have predicted Donald Trump's response to the coronavirus crisis would be appropriate. For those of us who've never exactly had high expectations of our Idiot-in-Chief, we were, sadly, not surprised.

Reason First: How Many Mass Murderers Are Black Males?
Comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director Chris Rock suggested in August of 2019 that most if not all mass shootings deal with a white shooter. This racist and sexist statement even had a terrible joke attached to it. “Betty White!” (I bet that he’s white) which scorched its way through social media sites and news agencies alike. The deceased shooter in the Molson Coors Beverage Company in Milwaukee ought to go to serve that males of color can commit egregious crimes like mass murder, too.

The destruction of justice in democracies
The destruction of justice in democracies . Legal abuse of natural justice. In any democracy the politicians consider themselves “law makers,” they like to believe they make the rules and laws that govern the people. Though the party system, if any particular group of politicians win a majority; they form the government. They then fool themselves into believing they run the country and make the rules everyone has to follow. In just about every democratic nation, on any day of the week, evidence can be found: if searched for, that this is a fallacy. Politicians tend to think in grand sweeping gestures, the big picture, great overall intentions.

How Monster’s Inc. can save us from Extinction and Planetary Collapse
I was cirumnavigating the planet on research vessels working with scientists, community groups and projects globally, and unknowingly, I was taking a litmus test of planetary proportions. I was getting a first-hand ‘feel’ for what was happening on our planet. For anyone who has been globally sailing and exploring, you’ll understand when I say that this type of exploring, lights the imagination on fire. Something curious happens at sea. Every sailor gets to view some “Interesting” aspects of the inner workings of their mind. Most humans were raised on land, thus tend to be programmed to “land’ thinking. In other words.. a phenomenon happens when we come on deck and peer around to see, only water. The mind begins to create a safe environment for us. It sort of ‘fills in the blank’. So those distant clouds may suddenly appear to be far away mountain tops or islands. The distant glow of a long past sunset, has us certain there are surely lights of a town just over the horizon. That sound over the wind is our mother calling for us.. isn’t it?

its just a theory
I have a few opinions I like opinions I like to share, even to argue about that tend to be unpalatable to some. It just I like a good conspiracy theory, even a bad one sometimes. I am sure we all see a spouse appealing for details about their missing other half and think I bet they killed them. That's a basic conspiracy theory, your being told they are appealing for the safe return of someone, you are choosing to not believe them and consider an opposite answer.

Get a Dog Donald
Dear Donald You may consider me impertinent to offer you advice, but as you have appointed your own daughter, Ivanka, and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, as presidential advisors, it would seem that qualifications and experience, in your opinion, are not prerequisites for the task of advising a president. Ivanka’s official title is “Assistant to the President”. That is the highest staff title held by anyone in the White House. Even your Chief of Staff is an assistant to the president. Jared Kushner’s title is, “Special Adviser to the President”.
