Some Thoughts After The USA's Disgusting Ukraine Confrontation

Introduction
I wasn't sure how to put this down, the disgusting behaviour of the American Presidency has made me feel I have to say something here.
The music is "Hey Hey Rise Up" by Pink Floyd feat. Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Boombox . This is the text from the video and you may want to watch it:
Pink Floyd would like to thank everyone who has supported Hey, Hey, Rise Up. The single, recorded on 30th March with Andriy Khlyvnyuk of the Ukrainian band Boombox, has so far raised over £450,000 to help alleviate the suffering of the Ukrainian people.
This is the disgusting transcript of what happened:

So Where Are We Now And How Did We Get Here?
I believe a lot of this is the direct result of what Reagan and Thatcher started in the late seventies. Their policies pushed the premise that everything is for sale, in the UK, the nation's infrastructure and politicians, in the USA, the same.
The eventual result of that included the financial Crash of 2008 and the eventual appointment of a felonious, racist, misogynist game show host as President of the United States. Though, remember Reagan was an actor too.
Putin is nothing short of a gangster, possibly modelled on Stalin and has been annexing countries close in proximity to Russia as a matter of course as well as spying and being behind cyber attacks on other countries through social media and other methods.
The Democrats in America carry part of the blame for the current situation, they have always been beholden to big money but at least made attempts to run the economy properly and not only for themselves.
After the attack on the White house when the Democrats won they should have made sure the Supreme Court had more tham ebough rational judges to deal with the apologists that Trum installed in his first term and the should have made it law that a convicted Felon or Impeached former President could not be allowed to stand for the post.
Trump would fail the first hurdle for most jobs, so how can he be allowed to be president of the United States of America? The "no one thought it would ever happen" argument does not wash with me. I never thought I would have to replace my kitchen floor, but I have house insurance, and when a long-term leak damaged it, the insurance paid. Precautions need to be taken against every foreseeable disaster. This was very foreseeable.
Then we have Elon Musk, Trump's latest owner, who is backing fascists throughout the world. Musk and Trump have many things in common but if they had not been left fortunes by their parents they would be losers living in some almost derelict trailer park.
In Trump's first term he did not know what he could do, he still doesn't, but his owners do and he goes ahead and does what he is told acting like a priviledged spoilt brat that would not be out of place in Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, except he is closing on eighty.
Check out this video from 1992 if you don't know what a creep this manbaby is:
Conclusion

This is Volodymyr Zelensky, a true trustworthy president. Trump accused him of being a dictator, then denied he said that, then this is Mike Harding's view on yesterday's atrocity:

The world is in a dangerous place and it is the Putin/Trump/Musk triumvirate that has brought us to this.
The only answer is the removal of these dangerous bullies, but I do not know how that will happen, but it must.
Stand with your friends, stand against the bullies, stand up for good and we will defeat them.

Mike - 100% agree. There is no doubt that Trump is a very savvy businessman, but a good president he is not. I have never been able to understand how a convicted felon can run for president and then get pardoned for everything. He is already showing his true and totally unethical colors -bullying, lying, wild accusations, and promises without any concern for people. I am totally bewildered. He is a dangerous man, and with his buddy Musk by his side, the world is in danger. Have you read about Project 25? Google it, this is only the beginning.
Thank you for all your insights. My laptop running a bit slow but thank you all
One of the men in that press conference was a decent human and a true leader, but it certainly was not one of the Americans. I have never been more disheartened and embarrassed to be American. More disheartening was watching the man elected to be president speak of the loss of lives in one breath and negotiating and bartering for the US's assistance i the next breath. Our president and vice president are nothing short of schoolyard bullies. Indeed, these are dismal times. I appreciated your well written piece - it is a reminder of the world's anger (and much of America's) in response to this horrific event. It definitely marks a sad day in American history. I stand with Ukraine.
As a Canadian Ukrainian I fond this exchange to be one of the lowest points in USA politics. Unfortunetly it will not be the last. This was totally planned, from omitting many trusted News agencies in side. instead allowing a Russion corespndant ( not against it if other jouranalist from certain countries been allowed). And what was with MArjorie Talyor Greens husbnad doing there asking the stupidest of questions..."do you not own a suite" WTF. Thank you Mike for writing this I am beyond angry and would wirte on emotion.
Yes, it was a difficult watch yesterday. You're right - we need to stand with our friends and allies. Bullies never win. Great article.
You are correct. The Trump and Vance bullying show was disgusting! Will Europe aid Ukraine in defeating Putin, who is the invader which is like Hitler who invaded Poland in the 30s?
Yesterday was a turning point, darker than J6. Well said!
It is indeed dark days and they only seek to bring midnight even closer. That whole exchange was unconscionable
Despite promises to "drain the swamp," actions such as appointing corporate executives and billionaires to key positions have been viewed as contradictory to those commitments. Great work man!!!
