Nice
I'm Randy Jellison-Knock & I've been on Vocal for several years now. I understand how difficult it can be to get noticed on this platform. My stories barely ever got read before Judey Kalchik lifted up one of mine which subsequently received Top Story recognition. Within the year following that, another 12 of mine received that honor along with one runner-up & one second place finish in the Vocal Awards. But then some things happened & I had to take a break for 8 months. Since coming back last fall, I seem to have dropped off the radar again. It's difficult getting noticed & I understand that the moderators don't have time to read everything that gets submitted here. That having been said, how the blankety-blank hell have neither of these two parts of one story not been named Top Story?????????????? https://shopping-feedback.today/chapters/twenty-six-part-1%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E https://shopping-feedback.today/chapters/twenty-six-part-2%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
This post really hit home. The part about storytelling being more important than flashy effects is so true. In Dubai’s fast-paced market, I've seen how the most impactful videos come from brands that focus on authenticity over polish. Working in the video production agency in Dubai, it’s clear that audiences connect more with emotion-driven narratives than overly branded content. Has anyone else seen this trend gaining momentum? Hi...please visit my stories
Hi, I'm Sandy and I write brutally honest stories about my life as a parent. I came across another Vocal member, Carolina Borges, who wrote this beautiful poem about learning to love the new version of herself after having a baby: https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/becoming-7ckhd0fuk%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
Here's us thinking this was about supporting other creators and not a self-aggrandizing thread for botniks and the most grotesque of this whole 'humanity' thing. How very silly of us. A couple from the week. Real people who write with heart and community at the centre. Hi everyone, Seema here. I hold a PhD in biosciences, and I create a lot of articles to raise awareness about inflammation—something we are often creating in our own bodies through unhealthy lifestyles. It’s a very critical area of health. If given proper attention, many chronic health issues can subside. Thank you for reading, and I’m truly grateful for your support.
Hellow, everyone my name is Taj gul and i work a little bite on the history and bring motivation to the new generation.
Hi Everyone! I'm Ellie - I'm a poet who writes about everything I've been through from a very raw place but also the hope and beauty of rebirth. Here's a poem from this week that I loved from Alyssa Nicole: https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/key-diq690f16%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
Hello everyone! I’m April. My main passions are poetry and writing about grief. It is my hope to connect with others and help them with their own grief.🤍🤍
Greetings to all of you, the Vocal community. I wish you all success. I am an Engineer, but my hobbies are writing song lyrics, poetry, and short stories. I joined the community in October 2024, and my work exceeds 140. I hope you find my work of interest
If you have not read any of Tim Carmichael’s works please do. He mainly does poetry and this piece grabbed me from the first until the final line. Late to the party this week, but Paul here. You know? That Scottish ass who does poetry, fiction and stuff like that. Anyway, while I am busy working on a million and one projects, it feels like, as well as my ongoing output of poetry and stories, I have not read quite as much as I would have liked to have read. Still, here are some things to consider for Top Story and for everyone to check out. One of my favourite things is to go to the earliest piece on Vocal for a writer and check it out, if I haven't already done so. This week, I read the incredible Prisoner of War by C. Rommial Butler. There is so much depth, so much understanding about the human psyche, about hope and holding onto it when all seems lost that I was blown away. Take a look here - https://shopping-feedback.today/fiction/prisoner-of-war%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E DK Shepard has been working through an ongoing manifesto for changes she would like to see at Vocal. I have agreed with almost all of her suggestions and even the ones I am not sure about, are worthy of consideration by the powers-that-be. This one stood out to me the most, I think, though each part is equally as important as the rest. https://shopping-feedback.today/writers/vocal-challenges-5t9le0mcn%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E You Are Not a Burden by Sid Aaron Hirji deserves a lot more reads and comments. It's powerful, timely and full of heart and soul. https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/you-are-not-a-burden%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E JBaz constantly impresses with his fiction and storytelling. His entry into the Tomorrow's Utopia Challenge was another example of his brilliance. It's called Cacotopia and you can read it here - https://shopping-feedback.today/futurism/cacotopia%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E Finally, Bedtime for the Brain by Shaun Walters was an incredibly relatable. As a parent, even as my kids are now grownups (howdidthathappeneh?) I thought it was beautiful and have felt the same. https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/bedtime-for-the-brain%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
Oneg in the Arctic here, been on Vocal for a while. Hoping for more growth from Vocal. But definitely loving the creators who have stuck around and continue to write important and authentic pieces. I'm recommending choreomania's Protect the Dolls piece as a must read, especially in these times, https://shopping-feedback.today/pride/protect-the-dolls%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E. I also want to share Amos Glade's hilarious inanimate letter challenge piece that's really creative: https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/dear-little-bird%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
I'm Tim, a fiction and poetry writer, and the published author of three cookbooks and two books about Appalachia. I've been part of this community for two months and have really enjoyed reading the incredible work shared by so many talented writers. One writer I especially enjoy reading is K.B. Silver. Here is one of her poems https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/flutter-by%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
I'm Alyssa, and I write a little bit of everything here on Vocal. Just trying to be consistent with my writing! Here is a lovely poem by Steph Marie. Steph tells such a heartfelt story of how scars can be beautiful. https://shopping-feedback.today/poets/ink-and-clouds%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
