Stripped to the Core
My thin, canvas shoes slapped against the freezing pavement, as I ran down an unfamiliar road, during the black of night. I could see my breath in front of my face, and the icy air hurt my chest. Dressed in a t-shirt and shorts, one thought pervaded. If I don’t find the right road during the next five minutes, I’m going to lie down in that ditch and die.

Controversy of a Catfish
As I sit to write this it’s a composition I am not quite sure where to start. From the top? From the fruit of my love for someone I met over a decade ago who has since gone on to become the kind of human I can’t help but respect and wish more than anything could be able to love in the way that he deserves? It’s hard to say where I should start and I don’t really want to name anyone in particular while I talk about this so I am going to use initials for each person. For myself I will use ‘S’ and for the REAL person I have had feelings for after so long I will use ‘RJ’ for the CATFISH I will use ‘CJ’

The Dark Side of the Writer's Mind
On April 18th, 1941, the body of a woman was found floating lifelessly in the Ouse River in Sussex England. The woman — later identified by her husband as famed author Virginia Woolf — was 59 years of age when she took her life. Eventually shared was a note left behind, which painted the picture of an artist exhausted from her struggle with mental illness, seemingly swallowed whole by the very mind that proved to be so prolific in writing.

Soothing Youtube Channels for my Struggling Attention Span
This pandemic that has absolutely shredded my attention span. At one point in time, movies were my solace. I flipped through the catalog of Amazon Prime to enjoy a spontaneous flick, or skipped into Target/Walmart to pick a familiar and comforting $5-$10 movie. On Tuesdays I would happily run over to the Cinemark near my job for discounted movie tickets and make a whole night of it; a daquiri from Fat Tuesdays, sushi at a little metal table overlooking the ground floor walkway and entrances to several shops and restaurants, and a delicious donut I'd sneak in to the theatre to enjoy during the film. Movies were my excuse to be sociable, and present in life- to be surrounded by other likeminded people who were choosing this movie as a moment of leisure and engagement in the joys of life we are too busy toiling, to otherwise enjoy.

Personality as a Factor in Drug Abuse
One of the most important areas of research in drug addiction is personality. Although the evidence for the relationship between personality and substance abuse is mixed, some recent studies suggest a relationship. A study published in the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment suggests that a person's "drug-abusing style" may be linked to their dopamine levels. People who like to experiment and take risks tend to be more likely to use drugs.
