Startup & Goliath: Parallel Lines & Mirror Images
I started watching Startup a couple of months ago. I'm not typically a binge-watcher, so progress can be slow! The first series is pretty good, and it did have me hooked, most of the way through. I must admit to being a little disappointed even to find out there was a Series 2, so I didn't go into it with much enthusiasm, and it fell a bit flat for me.

Losing a Granddaughter to Addiction- Bonnie’s Story
This is a very sad story. My friend Era told me about Bonnie and the story about her granddaughter, Ella. Bonnie was kind enough to talk to me on the phone. It is a fresh wound and I truly appreciate her taking the time to share her granddaughter’s story. The events and the loss is still very upsetting to Bonnie. She knew she will get a phone call one day, she thought that phone call will be about her kids not Ella. She never suspected Ella taking anything. It was a complete shock for the family. I ask Bonnie if she could tell me about her granddaughter. It was 8 days before her 31st birthday. Ella had a 6-year-old son. She died on April 11th from a cardiac arrest. The family was trying to figure out how did that happen at her age. Then the tox screen come back and they found out what Ella had drugs in her system. It was a shock and felt that she just died all over again. Bonnie thinks Ella had been taking drugs since she had a c-section. It made her feel good, it does not take much time to get addicted to Oxycontin. Maybe a week.

Meditate yourself to sleep
As a young child, I struggled to fall asleep every night of my life until I was old enough to smoke weed and get to sleep anytime I needed. I summed it up to having an over active brain that would not stop rambling on about everything all night. I've spent my last few years expanding my knowledge on chakras and energy flow. This expansion has led me into waters I couldn't imagine existed. I've learned how to feel the energy around me, how to send healing vibrations to a friend in need, how to hear angels and the most fun of all, how to experience past lives for karmic healing.

Letting go the Daoism way
A few years ago a client of mine introduced me to the work of Alan Watts*. (*Alan Watts (1915–1973) was an English Philosopher, writer and speaker who interpreted and educated his western audience on Zen Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism. His work still lives on today and I recommend watching some of his videos on youtube)

How I Made My Depression Invisible
“You are the most cheerful person I know. So positive and full of energy.” When one of my coworkers came up to my workstation two years ago to say those exact words they struck me like lightning. This well-meant compliment hit me hard. I had nothing else to say than a simple “thank you” before I turned back to my work, trying to look entirely unbothered by the storm of emotions that was looming on the horizon and fast approaching.
